S38 turbo e30 Hartge H35-24 H bomb

On Friday I took off the intake to repaint. I bought a can to help remove the old paint. I still had to use wire brush on my drill.

I pulled the valve cover off to sand to polish and paint. It came out fine for me. I also pulled the intake off to paint.
I was able to polish Hartge strut bar. I hope this Saturday I can take my parts to get cad plating and get my OZ bolt chromed.

On my e30 hood I want to cad plate the rear bracket .I paint them the bracket it will scratch the paint. At least the cad plating will last longer. I found a place not to far from me in Oceanside.
I might starting to remove s38 valve cover to paint and polish fins and also intake this week

These are the parts I want to cad plate and hard ware.

I started to fit the front end. I’m waiting on hardware to get things bolted up. I missed placed the original hardware.

I got to do painting in engine bay. It did not come how I wanted. It looks better in my opinion. I want to cad plate some parts and bolts in yellow zinc.

I wish I knew how paint years ago. I would have liked to paint the engine bay before I installed the s38. It was a pain in the ass to install with tranny bolted to it. I did it all by self. Now I’m trying to paint engine bay. I will be welding e30 vert braces to strut towers.

While I’m waiting on red Barron to dry and wet sand. I started in silver e30 project. I took pics of dents with blue tape marking area for reference.

Here pic splitter having a run on clear. I got a razer blade to scrape the high points of clear so I can wet sand it.

I was able to get bumper on the red Barron. I think I will paint under tray with gloss.

I was able to wet sand the front m3 bumper. It came better than I thought. I’m working on the Evo III splitter to paint glossy black paint.

It getting close. I have owned for 25 years. I only drove once in 1999 in east LA when my friend was trying to sell it to me for 8k with a s14 motor at the time.

I am all most finished with the car. I just need to finish bumper and maybe hood. On the hood I’m thinking of buying a carbon fiber hood from Turner Motorsport that ways 12lbs and cost $2,800. I might buy for my Xmas present for my self.

I was able to get them sanded and painted. I polished the out lips. I sanded them down and sanded them up to my high polish I like.

I’m redoing my Hartge wheels with new paint and 2k clear on them to look the shine for a while.


I’m going back on some flaws on paint. I’m going to touch them up.

Cant wait to see how the car comes out, it looks great! Are you trying to finish it and bring it to SoCal Vintage Show in October?

Hi Simon.
I would like to meet you and BS about BMW’s and Porsche’s.
I was not planning to show it this year. Of all the BMW meets it SoCal vintage it is my favorite to see all types of BMW’s. It should be done next year. I will be working on Silver E30 next to finish.
