Just a little insight, make sure you use cast rod on those manifolds. I suggest talking to your welding supply shop when buying filler. Make sure you get someone that welds. Hopefuylly those won't crack. Also you may need to get a few other bottles of gas for stainless and back purging . looking great so far.
Looking for late model fogs, E39 Fog lights, cool cheap 17 5x120 wheels.

the junkyard markings on the calipers say they're off a 325i. almost seems a bit big for a 325 though...

Work equips showed up today and they clear the brakes perfectly.
And the barrels are just right, just need to buy lips and polish the centers.

Rebuilding the t56 with a stage 2 rebuild kit, it will never have traction so I think it will hold up fine.

Mocked up the equips, going to do 17x9 17x10.5

Going to order my driveshaft and front rotors tonight.

Also cut the radiator support out to weld on tabs and make it bolt in.

And I bought a heckblende to see if I like how it looks.

pretty sure he's having one custom made since none of the swap kit people (to my knowledge anyway) use flanges for 1350 u-joints. google "driveshaft shop" and pick whatever's local (i'm not talking about the company called driveshaft shop btw). if nothing comes up on google for your area, call up some local trucking companies and ask them where they get their driveshafts done. it's about $200 + the cost of the yoke/flange for most places to make you a shaft from scratch

also, to backtrack a little bit...

i remember watching a video about rebuilding these diffs, that surface is apparently heat treated. do you think it'll be fine without having it re-treated?

I'll let you know soon enough, I'm not worried about it but time will tell.
BimmerDiffs says to just mill it and slap it together and the swap program they offer all they do is mill it 4mm and send it to you.

dunno, this dude named yoshi made that video on facebook and basically was the recipient of a flame war because he didn't get it heat treated

hopefully you'll be just fine though

That surface should be ok, wouldn't hurt to do it. it's the ramp carriage that has the Rockwell rating that needs to be heat treated if messed with.

That's not the technical term.....not sure what it's called but its the piece that has the ramp angle for the lock pin. a buddy of mine modified his in his e28 and we had to send it in and have it hardened again.
