Just a little insight, make sure you use cast rod on those manifolds. I suggest talking to your welding supply shop when buying filler. Make sure you get someone that welds. Hopefuylly those won't crack. Also you may need to get a few other bottles of gas for stainless and back purging . looking great so far.

pretty sure he's having one custom made since none of the swap kit people (to my knowledge anyway) use flanges for 1350 u-joints. google "driveshaft shop" and pick whatever's local (i'm not talking about the company called driveshaft shop btw). if nothing comes up on google for your area, call up some local trucking companies and ask them where they get their driveshafts done. it's about $200 + the cost of the yoke/flange for most places to make you a shaft from scratch
also, to backtrack a little bit...
i remember watching a video about rebuilding these diffs, that surface is apparently heat treated. do you think it'll be fine without having it re-treated?Comment

BimmerDiffs says to just mill it and slap it together and the swap program they offer all they do is mill it 4mm and send it to you.Bang Gears & Burn Rubber.

That surface should be ok, wouldn't hurt to do it. it's the ramp carriage that has the Rockwell rating that needs to be heat treated if messed with.sigpic
