From what I have gathered as being a old man in the turbo business, just be sure to add enough fuel to compensate for boost, and all is well ;)
Anything near 200whp will be a total hoot in the 1600. But then again, coming from a guy who stuck a turbo on a Chevy Corsica-grocery getter a few (or many) moons ago.

Minor update on this car.
It's been raining on and off for the last few weeks down in Long Beach, and I removed the windshield a few weeks ago, before the rains came. I opted to store the car outside and leave the warehouse for other projects. This was a bad decision in retrospect.
The car cover isn't very waterproof, and at some point during heavy rain and wind, part of the car cover was blown off and rain was able to enter the back seat area. Nothing was damaged, but things were damp. I let the interior air dry for two days, but I decided right then and there that the windshield is going back in with the new seals, so I called my windshield guy to swing by and do the install. He did good. Look:
All last week, I've been prepping a few sets of suspension for 2002s. I'm gearing up for a big powdercoating run next week, so I needed everything taken apart and ready to go. Here is about half of the pile so far:
I have since separated all trailing arm bearings and backing plates, struts from their housings, etc. I have two front subframes, two sets of strut housings, two sets of trailing arms (one set is tii), and everything else to make another car or two. Here is a new set of Bilstein HD struts that I pulled out. They can't have more than 1000 miles on them. I've only drive 100 miles on them myself. They are great.
All will be powdercoated black and prepared for the Polaris car, and the future Colorado orange car. I'll introduce each of those cars later. Probably early next year. Oh yeah, I've changed my mind again. I first planned on restoring the Polaris 1973 car back to Polaris, but I really wanted a Colorado car so then I changed my mind and decided to paint the Polaris car Colorado orange. Then a friend offered me a 1972 Colorado Orange car so I flipped a coin, and have agreed on purchasing it. So now I'm back to restoring the Polaris car in it's original color which I am pleased about. Again, I'll introduce those a bit later.
Oh yeah, I'm swapping out the current lynx manifold/DCOE 45 carb for a downdraft 38/38 I picked up a few days ago. I've felt what the lynx can do, now it's time to get some seat time with the 38/38. I want experience with all popular carb setups, so I'll probably go dual webers on another project, and EFI on yet another. Oh and turbo.
Relevant pictures:
And separated:
These all showed up today too. Korman Race oil pan with baffle, brand new tii dizzy, a new shift knob (I have 3 of these now), and the Cannon intake manifold with Weber 38/38 carb. I don't have any plans for the korman pan or the tii dizzy yet, but they'll find their way onto a project at some point. I will clean the mani and carb this weekend and prepare it for install. I may not get to it until after Christmas though. Still waiting on Ireland Engineering to finish up with the Alpina Headers. It's only three weeks past due now -___-
Still thinking about turbo, just putting together a good game plan. I'll likely buy everything brand new for that project.
Oh and I also graduated with a B.S. in International Business, so I guess that's pretty cool.Last edited by phreshkid; 12-19-2014, 09:40 PM.world renown Harry Potter expert

But as an aside, I actually just accepted a job offer today. A large company I previously worked for approached me and offered me the reins to their Sales Division of all of the Southwestern US for the container and intermodal industry. Kind of crazy how it happened, but I am allowed to keep my current company as it is profitable and will continue to be so. The only caveat is that I cannot bring in new customers under my personal company.
So I start that position in about a month, and let an employee or two run my personal company and manage them from a distance. It sounds like a recipe for disaster, but I think I can swing it.
So this basically means more cars. Many more cars.world renown Harry Potter expert

and you better not be doing a Colorado too..... dang it.
Thanks for checking in and giving me an update by the way. I know it's hard estimating a time frame on project completion regarding these headers that your fabricator controls. It makes IE look bad because they can't keep their promises on time, it makes me look bad because I can't put my car back together in time for a drive or some important event that I was counting on attending, etc. But I'm not mad.
I do need some stuff to make the 38/38 work, though. Most notably, the throttle linkage system. The carb/mani I posted up above didn't come with the linkage, so I will have to source that new. Can you help with this?world renown Harry Potter expert

And I don't know how you are juggling so many things... nice work though :)
I'll tell you how:
- No girlfriend
- No wife or kids
- Lots of resources
- Lots of time
I don't even go out looking for deals anymore. Friends/Family will call/text me and say "hey, I saw a cool car like your old one! It's at 123 Gospendyourmoney Street. You should check it out!" Or "Look at this craigslist ad! Looks like something you'd drive lol". Or my personal favorite, "My dad's old neighbor has a few old cars in his garage that you might get a kick out of checking out! He's old and blind but I told him about you and said you'd be stopping by sometime this week". This is how my newest project came along. I can't officially talk about that project though.
Like a stray dog, I bring these cars/parts home.
Buy now, ask questions and reflect on poor life decisions later. Seems to work for me.world renown Harry Potter expert
