One of the guys has a topasblau e46 and I started looking over the color and decided that I really like it. I checked it out from a lot of angles and in different light conditions and after comparing pictures, I think that with the minimal metallic content, I actually like it better than my earlier choice of LeMans Blue.

damn you....that was my #2 choice color to do on the e21 lol...

I take it Nick and Bobby fixed the car?

    Update:

Schrick valve springs (yes, I have all 12):

Prep for paint is in the final final steps! I broke out the bondo after limiting myself to filler primer and sanding up to this point. The car was supposed to go to the shop today but logistics (my job) got in the way, as I chose to be there for my daughter's first day of school over taking the car to the shop this morning.

I also found a few more small areas that I'd like to address before I drop it off, but if I don't get to them I will survive.

    Late valance installed:

    Overall:

Prepared parts (Euro trim and "is" front lip not shown):

    Last minute change...

    Nice car..like reading along.
They really are in pretty good shape. I need to take them apart (unfortunately) to replace the tilt/fold cables. The covers could use a light cleaning but otherwise seem to be fine.

More paint prep pictures. I finally bought a new dual action random orbital sander and am kicking myself for not doing this sooner. I have a few small spots to hit with filler and then need to do a final hand-sand with wet 320 or 400 but the bumpers and lower rear apron are done. I still have to finish the front valance and to check over the euro trim, is lip, and a few other small parts. I also need to remove the lock cylinders, door sills, and to mask off the large holes. Last major sanding project will be to strip the mirrors.

I have made arrangement to get a set of new HD rocker arms from Bimmerheads, and am either getting some new Schrick valve springs or new BMW dual valve springs- awaiting word form the guy with the Schrick springs. Once that is settled I will be getting the head rebuild with the 272 cam, HD rockers, and new springs. My powdercoated and laser etched valve cover was completed yesterday (pics coming).

And holding pen for this: http://sssquid.com/v2/shop/apparel/t...ap-e-ssshirty/
