this one in particular: Sunex 6602LP 2 Ton Low Rider Steel Service Jack
Thanks! Yup.. any appearance will likely change time and time again as time passes

lol I can't even find my own info in this thread anymore... one of these days I'll make a glossary.
I'll guess it's referring to how the car looked right before I started doing splitters and sideskirts etc.Leave a comment:

Awesome work! From an appearance perspective I would have stopped at post #1361, but it's your car!Leave a comment:

I'm MIG welding with stainless wire and tri-mix gas. Should be fine as far as I understand, just won't look all nice and fancy. I'll probably be ceramic coating the headers eventually anyway.
The jack doesn't fit under the skirts by like 1 mm. But it doesn't fit under the front because of the skid plate either, so I've been using ramps to help get the car up for years now anyway. Speaking of... I did find a few ultra low profile long reach jacks that might actually work without ramps...

Out of curiosity, can you fit a jack under the side skirts, or is that the reason you made the ramps? I love the side skirt idea, but then I realized it might be hard to get a jack under the car (or lift arms for that matter)Leave a comment:

How do you plan on welding the headers/exhaust up? I've been reluctant to touch my S50 headers with the MIG as I think I should really be tackling them with a TIG instead.Leave a comment:

yes to the jag big six with dual pipes - sounds wicked
no to titanium.....
The corsa catback is an even further improvement
Here's what the inside of one of the big cans looks like:
And a diagram:
I think the whole thing is pretty damn cool and it definitely works
Here's what the whole piece looks like:
I already butchered it years ago when I welded v bands onto it and then smacked it on a bad bump in the road driving around in my e36 too low for socal roads... so I have no qualms about further cutting it up. I intend to remove the spare tire well, cut reliefs on both sides of the subframe for clearance for the exhaust to split one tube on each side running through/under it, and snake the catback so it kinda makes a mirrored question mark shape "?" a la porsche 911 where both big cans point towards each other right at the bumper and then the exhaust tips do a 90* to exit out the centerLeave a comment:

hahaha nah I'm not going that far with it
that's a good point. Mostly I want to do it because I had a similar setup on my E36 ages ago and it sounded gnarly (too much for a daily, but perfect for a weekend car). I will pair it with a UUC Corsa RSC36 catback (modified to fit the E30) and for that system to work properly, it utilizes dual pipes all the way back with tuned resonators. The system effectively cuts all the rasp out leaving a deep rumble at idle and part throttle but rips really hard at WOT kinda sounds a bit exotic. It sounded even more vicious with the supercharger attached

Why not just run a single 3"? It should save a significant amount of weight.Leave a comment:
