    tomorrow

Tomorrow: I might be getting back to the hartge:). Been doing lots of things on the new house. Will post pictures of the hartge floor mats, since people were asking about them. They are not as nice as bmw oem, but then again, they all a lot cheaper:).

Weren't you looking for these? They're really cheap. I'd personally just go with some Racelands.

                small update

Well, in the past few days since I got home I have collected all of the rest of the hartge parts that I needed to finish this car...well, I still need the bilstein shocks:). I took some pictures of the mats that I had made for the car. I would say for the price they are fine. Sure look a lot better that nothing.
Next on the list will be replacing the cluster with a correct euro one and putting the left hartge badge on the car:) more pictures when the parts get here. Also, going to do a valve adjustment so the valve cover will get repainted along with a bunch of other small items just to clean up the engine bay.

                  it has been awhile

Well, been out of town a lot this summer. Had fun over at 5erWest looking at all the nice cars and meeting a few people. Now that we are back, I have some time to get back to the hartge.
First on the list of things was the euro cluster. Could not really spend 1000 euros on a real hartge cluster, so for now the sticker and 220k speedometer will have to do. At least now the needles are white:)
                  Some pictures:

                  old cluster...nice red needles:)

old cars are pretty simple:) two cables for the cluster.

Done for today...on to valve adjustment tomorrow.

                      good question

The cluster that came with the car was at 170,000 miles. I would have to fix the one that I just put in, but that is for later:).

Check the cluster with the red dials above....

The cheapest Hartge 280km cluster I bought on eBay $216.00 shipped from Germany. Some time you can find a good deal.

The euro cluster with Hartge sticker looks good!

Thanks, next big project is the front valance! Going to be fun to paint it and get it on the front.

Before painting you will need to drill 4 holes in the valance & test-fit.
First you will need to remove your bumper (2 front bolts & 2 inner side screws)
                            Unplug directionals
...next you will need to remove lower valance part of the 2 piece valance.

Will attempt to post DIY on THIS THREAD after supper😏

You should send the valve cover to rennewed finishes for powder coat.....it may take a few weeks but the result is incredible ( or wait till winter down time)
