I go to check my fuel today..
I have fuel pump going, injector are getting pulsing.. so i pull a fuel line and to my suprise there is no fuel pressure in the line..
i jump the FP relay terminals and I test the pressure and flow.. it has flow but very low pressure.. and after i turn it off it doesnt even hold pressure, within a couple seconds its zero pressure...
So i get into the fuel tank and while running the pump look inside through the level sender hole.. and there is a lot of fuel moving around in there.. so I remove the whole fuel unit and...
what do you know, I guess the hose i used could not handle being in the fuel.. replaced it with one that is specifically for fuel only.. and put it back in the tank.. a couple cranks and she fires up running smoothly.. let it warm up and go take it for a spin, and it has more power and throttle response than before.. i was getting sideways in 2nd gear! (prob because I cleaned the AFM and adjusted the TPS and cleaned out the throttle body..lol)
Video of her back from the dead
So now look forward to more Race Car updates!

Tear Down of the M60
Tearing down the m60.. not too many surprises, which is good..
- Intake manifold complete gunked up, so will have to clean that all up
- One of the cam chain tensions has failed, causing slack and noise when running
- removed the lower oil pan and no bolts in there, good so far! but when i removed the oil pump chain cover a bolt fell out of there that was all chewed up. Appears to be rubbing against the chain, but the chain was ok, just loose. The bolt that wiggled itself loose was the one that locked in the tensioner.
- I will be replacing all the gaskets, seals, and timing chain tensioner.
6-SPEED in the house!
and IF ANYONE has a trick to get this jesus bolt off while on the engine stand, that'd be great... other wise i gotta do it by the book and wait until i have it mounted in the car.... which i would rather not do..

^ a good impact driver. Used a 1/2" drive Milwaukee to get it out. had tried breaker bars and holding the engine up with a hoist, plus making a flange that fit those outer smaller holes with a long piece of angle, to stop me turning the bolt from turning over the engine. None of that worked, 10 seconds with the big impact and an impact socket, it was done. Don't reuse the old one once it's out.

All you need is an ingersoll rand impact and a compressor

With my m62, I tried a 700 ft lbs 1/2" impact on 150psi, with lots of heat, hammered on it for probably 30 minutes, taking breaks to refill my 60 gal compressor. Didn't budge. My m60's bolt came off after about 5 seconds with the same impact.
Had to do this, which mathematically gave me 900 ft lbs of leverage with my body weight, but I had to jump on the 6' bar, so who knows what peak I actually had to hit to break the bolt loose...
I was most impressed that my $15 Duralast brand breaker bar from AutoZone took the abuse...

Thanks for the input guys! I got it off tonight! borrowed one of the 500ftlbs impacts from work and in about 30 seconds of gunning it, it came off smooth!
Its now time to for new seals and gaskets and some paint.. ;DLast edited by ncrmtrsprtsE30; 08-26-2015, 11:59 PM.
