Here's a shot they sent me of the quarter panel before installation.

Visited the shop yesterday afternoon, I did not have time to snap any pics but they are making great progress. They have done a fabulous job of mating the panels and recreating the factory M3 inner wheel arches based on photos and measurements. When I was there they were just about ready to do the finish welds on the driver's side and had already mocked up the "rough" stage on the passenger side.

They are quite serious about making things look "factory". Even the parts that no one will ever see, like what goes on under the side skirts. This makes me very happy as I have seen some shoddy jobs in those areas from other replicas.

Right, sorry. As mentioned I am using M3 coupe quarter panels. Coupe skins are identical in terms of the box flares, so it amounts to a "partial quarter panel replacement" which is common on old hot rods that succumb to rust. There are many small details and I am oversimplifying of course, but that's pretty much what we're doing at a high level.

No, IIRC, he got Original Coupe M3 sheet metal, and they are modifying from there.

    Thanks for the support guys!

Small update, the good folks at Bavarian Restoration are restoring my cluster. I replaced the SI board with a refurb years ago, but apparently it went bad so they are fixing it up for me.

Also I was informed that cutting is happening over at the shop. I will most likely pay them a visit in the next few days! :D

i hope (pray) you have the opportunity to post TONS of pictures.

I'm very excited as well. Unfortunately I haven't seen any of the build details posted on the Griot's blog. I do have a number of photos given to me to show the quality of the work, however I'm not sure I am at liberty to post them.

I will say that the shop is on my way home from work, so I will be stopping by and bugging them frequently during the process.
