    '91 Vert M54 Swapped

    **THIS IS A PROJECT CAR**
    Hey R3Vlimited,
I recently purchased my first E30. After months of searching and saving, I found a miracle. On CL locally, I found a 1991 325i Cabrio with an m54 swap. the swap had 74k miles, and the car had upgrades to the suspension and redone brakes. The swap was done professionally and was tuned well. The car's condition however wasn't very pretty. This would be the first car I had purchased, my parents let me drive a '94 Ranger that was manual :). This car taught me how to cherish and take care of what I had, also how to drive manual. Back to the E30, the car was in OK condition, the paint was terrible, and tires were 13 years old with stock bottle caps. The car had electrical issues, with speakers not working, no brake lights, no horn, no auto top, and other things. The wiring was a mess, with the ecu and others exposed and dangling in the glove box. I got to test drive before the purchase, and I can say was, HOLY SH*T THIS CAR IS FAST. The way it corners and handles was exceptional, it was a machine that I loved.

I purchased the car for $3,900 with a clean title, and brought her home to the ridicule of my parents :). They didn't know anything about BMW and how an E30 could be, if upgraded and treated right an E30 outperform many cars on the track today, they thought I should've been like my friends and spent my money on a newer BMW or a civic, yeah i know a f*cking civic. But I knew the cars potential ,and now I'm going head over heels to bring this car back to its former glory.

First, I accessed the car and did little maintenance and cleaning i could, then i made a list of everything I had to do to make this car a complete beast:
The car had no plastic rear window, so new rear window
    New Wheels and Tires
    New Headlights/Fogs and Brake lights
    Electric Organization
    Annoying Fan Whine
Interior/Detailing: New Carpet, leather and cloth seats, door handles and locks, automatic top, AC w/M54?, Speakers with Amp and Sub trunk mod, interior lighting?, Quick release hub and Steering wheel, Visors
Exterior: remove trunk brake light, IS lips and spoiler, Exhaust, BMW Emblems, maybe MTech2?, Paint
LSD, Short throw, FI after I master M54 power and capabilities.

Yes, I know it's a lot for an E30 noob, let alone a swapped E30. But this is my dream car, I want to work on this car, I want my hardwork to pay off later with the happiness this car can bring me. I'm still a HS Student, so I have work, School, and Basketball constantly, but I will make this car and Thread a major priority, it's one of my main focuses right now. I am in no way an expert about E30 I am a complete noob, I will need help and guidance so any would be appreciated.

    BEST FOR LAST ;)

    Dash and new rear window

Today I removed all the material from my dashboard and began refilling the foam and sanding. I used Great Stuff Foam, got that sh*t all over my hands and it's impossible to get off! Just need to sand and shape a lot more, now waiting for dash sealant to apply the Vinyl Leather I purchased.

Got a new TINTED rear plastic window from EMIATA,great quality and customer service. Should install tomorrow, sadly that's all for today.

I see camber plates, what suspension is on it? I see a blue spring and Bilstein shocks in the back

If I remember correctly, it's H&R sports with Bilstein Touring's all the way around, it has the same stock rusty control arms with a bushing offset. I'll get a picture in a little

All I know is, this engine performs in an E30 chassis. It's a complete beast when it opens up.

I posted this car in the CA discussion section when it was on CL. It looked like a good price for a late model vert with M54 already installed. Did you buy the correct rear window for it?

Yeah I know the late models have zipper Windows, but I check on my top and it has no signs of a zipper, hence I think I got the right one I'm pretty sure. Measured it out today, due to the fact that I'm going to be sewing the window in myself. :D

This looks like a lot of work, but you already have a decent start. Good luck.
