Out for a drive when my throttle cable got stuck at first, revving the nuts off the engine, then pulled over, tugged on it and it snapped.
Balls.
Fortunately I never wear flip flops when driving old cars, in case I need to walk home and used a shoe lace to control the throttle and limped it home.

It wasn't too bad, years of riding motorcycles have given me a feel for hand controls. From a stop I'd get the engine to about 2k rpm and slowly let off the clutch, the rest was pretty easy. I was able to shift gears and everything.I do things.Comment
