I made new purchases as I'm not confident with the oil pump shaft upgrade. I first purchased uprated shaft kit that had instructions to glue the shaft with epoxy to the pump rotor (in addition to press fit). I don't understand what epoxy does there.

So I did some clicks in eBay again and I should get a new version of this topic.

Eagle! It is at least established brand with some reputation from rally scene in this side of the pond. I did not have the courage to use Maxspeeding in this engine because it will cost arm and leg anyway.

Chinese-American is just a bad joke. I'm assuming that every rod in this planet is done somewhere in China today.

Seems to be eBay seller SIXSHOP. I had to check from my purchase history.

Oilpump will receive an upgrade too

Oilpump chain will get a tensioner that M52 does not origially have.

Long time no see, but some things have happened in the background. 5150 sold me nice set of pistons for my combo.

These rods were heavy pigs so I decided at the end to discard them. Perhaps some turbo tuner fellow has more use for them.

Headwork done, 285CFM is more than any size or form of M/S5X bottom end can fully utilize. These have enormous potential compared to M20.

Thanks for all insights. I'm still trying to figure out if my budget allows dry sump, but at least the oiling system must be taken seriously.

Crank seems to be straight at least. I can see only 0.02mm runout.

I know people have had success on the 2.8 steel bottom end >8K without, but I'd bare minimum put the 'Racing' 11417576915 oil pump chain on it and use an S54 oil pump tensioner setup, plus an upgraded pump(or at least the rotor shaft/sprocket), but I don't even know which pump upgrade is 'the best' anymore because there have been a lot of them over the years.

I like what ba114 did on his dual vanos engine and use an M54 pump for the bigger rotor running at lower RPM, but given the M54's issues, I wouldn't want to guinea pig the pump at high RPM.

I know there are a handful of 9K RPM people out there on this platform, some of them in the FI groups on facebook. Not sure how willing they are to share.

What fuel will you use? E85 ?

The power is in the cylinder head, induction system and camshaft(s). The cylinder head is going to need some "work" have you flowed it and measured the cross sectional areas from a baseline before sending it off?
ATI with MRT adapter or one local less known product are my choises for a damper. Surely crucial component for bottom end to live.

    E85 yes, absolutely!

Cylinder head project is ongoing and not in my hands so I have not much to tell about it yet. Port design, valves, cams, lifters, shimming, springs and retainers follow anyway a previously developed concept.

We need a source in the US - shipping both ways adds $600+ to the cost. I emailed Rama ages ago about leasing out his files per use here but he didn't have any interest. Grooty's CNC project got derailed by his engine exploding. Its hard out here in 885 cnc land

RRD has a good track record for quantifiable results, generally speaking
