Built our own vapor honing machine. Didnt feel like paying 7-10k for one. A lot of research and was able to build a top quality version for 1/4 the cost so I’m happy!

It seems the deeper this project gets, the more I tell myself that's it. Then you realize that's bullshit lol. Just finished the block disassembly and ready for measurements. Also got my new shipment of goodies. When in doubt go all out!

Since the motor was out I started to envision how the bay should look. If the motor is looking this pretty might as well fancy the jewelry box. Don't know how far I'll go so we"ll see.

Here's how it sits. The Cosmoline queen..

Removed all the seam sealer to give a cleaner look similar to the E36

Grinded all the brackets and tabs that were no use for the build.

                Slowly but surely..

                      Thank you. East bay

Well finished the engine bay and ready for prep work and paint. Let's see the outcome in the next week or two.

Measured rod bearing clearances on all cylinders. Finish up main bearings in a day or two.

Pistons were all removed and vapor honed. Got pretty tired but will finish the remaining 3 cylinders. Overall I'm quite pleased with the results!
