So I drove her to work today! Did a brake flush and finished the last of the wiring for the 5 speed swap. I'm actually really glad I did this at work because rather then splicing the wires together with butt connectors, I did things a little differently and repined the connectors. No splicing at all, just took the connectors apart, re crimped them with the correct style pins, and re assembled the connectors. Thankfully my dealer had all that crap in stock, I didn't bother to check before I started working.

Wow, that was fast. The wagon already looked great, but those wheels are the icing in the cake!

This. Are you printing these things or what man?

Also wagon looks great, super jealous. I really want an e34 someday.

Holy crap! Already running and driving? It seems like you just started this project. Nice work! That's a good looking touring.

Haha I wish I had a few S50's laying around :D. I do have to say though S50 swapping this thing was a ton easier then it was on my e30, definitely more direct bolt in and such. Took me about 3 weekends to pull the M50, install pedals, drop in the S50 and get her running and driving.. Not taking into consideration the time I spent re sealing the engine on a stand and stuff.

In other news, she rolled over 258,500 miles chassis miles today! Also let my Dad take her for a spin yesterday to the store.

Awesome work. That's how those should have come from the factory. My 525iT with an auto was an excellent DD but was also appallingly slow. When I sold it, it had 285K on it. Showed it's age but was still solid. I miss that car a lot.

You know that's one thing I never got to experience, what a M50/ automatic would feel like in a e34 touring. They're really that slow with the M50 and slushbox huh?

Well small update, figured I'd share my little modification. In order to remove the hood on a e34 you need to remove all the hood insulation just to gain access to two connectors for the washer sprayer heaters. The hood insulation is nearly 30 years old and brittle as hell.. good luck getting it back on if you remove it.

Instead I chose to snip the wires and crimp on a quick disconnect plug to never have to worry about this issue again while removing the hood. I bought a 4 pin waterproof connector online and got the pins/ connector crimped and installed today after work, came out great. Hopefully the guys here with e34's will find this helpful.
