    adams - e30 build thread

    Hello,

    i would like to introduce me and my car - which i buit 10 years. My name is Pawel and i'm from Poland. Some facts about car:

    ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION 2.8-litre straight-six M20 stroker, fully-rebuilt, 288° Schrick camshaft, Schrick race valve springs, ported head, Cat Cams adjustable cam gear, ITB manifold, Ireland Engineering long-tube headers, BMW Expert Motorsport stainless steel exhaust, Ecumaster EMU standalone computer. Modified E46 six-speed manual gearbox, 40% locking LSD, Ultra Shifter

    CHASSIS:
    1. 9x17” (front) and 10x17” (rear) OZ Mito II three piece wheels
    2 now AC Schnitzer Rennsport Type 2 (same dimensions),
    3. Track spec - Motec Nitro Wheels 4x9/17 with semislick tyres
    ISC Suspension coilovers, six-piston Porsche Cayenne Turbo Brembo calipers with 355mm two piece discs (f), four-piston Porsche 911 Brembo calipers with 300mm discs (r)

    EXTERIOR Full respray in Ferrari Grigio Silverstone, full original M Tech 2 kit, Depo smoked headlights, smoked front indicators, carbon DTM mirrors, carbon door handes, MHW rear lights

    INTERIOR Forge Racing full roll-cage, Recaro Profi SPG seats in Nappa leather, five-point Schroth harnesses, Sparco R383 steering wheel, flocked dashboard and centre console, hydraulic handbrake, Wilwood brake bias valve, Alcantara door pulls with red stitching, auxiliary gauges for oil temperature, pressure and amps

    Have you ever dyno'd the M20 to see what it makes?

            Not yet, but i'm going to dyno soon. For sure i will attack the dyno result.

                    Yeah, they look like the ones for the 2.5L
                    Was a popular upgrade for the TSI engines on the GTi

                      Exacly - VW coils. Why them? Well, car is managed by standalone computer Ecumaster EMU, so i added camshaft sensor and engine is running in full sequential ignition (not semi sequential like m20 with standard motronic management). I wanted to achieve better ignition system, so i added coils on sparks - VW coils are small, cheap and (unlike BMW's coils) are active (not passive) so thay aren't additional burden for standalone.


                      In free time I will add more photos from building time - if you are interested of course ;)

                          I've never heard of that power unit (KM). What is that in HP? Or is that just HP in Polish? Looks like it makes about 220HP.

                            yes, KM means HP in Poland ;) it makes 223HP. Not bad but i will try to achieve a little bit more :D

                              so 223HP on stand-alone, upgraded injection sequencing, ITBs, headers and that's about it? That's pretty damn cool to me! I bet it runs butter smooth too.
