My e30 Project... Mtech II sedan, Jlines, Vaders, M50 and much more...
Looking better every day! Nice work, I think the tails look excellent. I do see what you mean though about the driver's side being a tad darker, could you just shoot the passenger side light with a light coat?
Since October I have been having issues with my obc. One thing led to another and it never worked. It bother me to have somthing so small and simple not work, so I had to fix it.
I ended up buying a 13 button OBC.
Here is my old 6 button
Working to remove the old OBC
I ended up installing my 13 button but it still didnt work. So I took a break to finish it the next morning.
While thinking about it all night I finally figured it out. It all stopped working when I changed out my cluster. So I ran outside in the 50 degree weather with my old cluster with just Temp and Gas guages on it and plugged it in. To my suprise it worked. Kinda. The lights didnt turn on, but that was a common issue with these OBC's.
So I got my "new" cluster and took out all the guages and SI board and swapped them onto my old cluster. Everything worked fine. Minus the lights.
I quickly swapped out the rear bulb, that worked :) I had to wait till the morning to go to radio shack to change the light bar. The light bar at the stealer is +/- $30.00 I fixed it for $3.20 and some solder. Now is time to put it all back together.
On and off I have been fixing the color on the tails
They now match pretty well
I wetsanded and touched up a few parts. I should be able to finish them soon
Back to the OBC.
Here is how I got to it in the AM
Plugging it all in
You see it works :)
Now re install
Cluster
This all in
Making sure it works
Night pics
Radio in. You know you like it ;)
All done
My next addition. I wont be putting these in until I buy my door stoppers because I dont want to keep taking off the door panels.
Holy shit it has been forever since the last update. Life is so busy that free time has now become hard to get.
I have been creating a bit of a stockpile since my last update.
This includes
Euro Grilles
MHW smoked turn signals
MT2 Rear
E28 MT1 spoiler
Cross hairs
Tweeters
ICV
Lowering the front
Euro tag holder
Fixing the tail lights
When this is all done, hopefully this week the car should pretty much be complete exterior wise
Sorry for the crappy Iphone pics. I no longer have a Point and shoot, and not taking my SLR out to these outings.
Rear bumper coming off
Test fitting
Spoiler
Wiring the tweeters. I just tapped into the factory wire in the kickpanels and used the stock wires for the tweeters.
Now painting the rear bumper and spoiler fitting. I was going to take a few days to to it, but being scared it would get contaminated and fisheye I took a while and did it all in one day. It came out real nice for not having a booth. I need to wetsand and buff to remove some stuff that landed on them from the air
man I have a 13 button OBC and bought a analog clock, but after reading this thread I think I am gonna sell my clock. Great progress! I like how you let stuff sit and dry in your office, except the fumes probably suck.
I got some work done today.
Here is how the car looked when I started
Putting bumper brackets on
Bumper mounted, still needs some fine tuning
My tail lights
Tails installed
Spoiler installed
Euro tag tray installed
Thats it today, tomorow I should be doing the front corners and smoked headlights
I literally went from post one to the last post. Amazing build, amazing thread, and I find it hilarious how many times you do the same work over and over haha.
I am exhausted just looking at all the work you have done, I can't imagine how much blood, sweat, and tears have gone in to the build. Congrats on the current status of your car! Looks amazing.
