I got a little bit of work done the past days.

Since I had modified the stock tranny brace to accept the tilt with the new motor. I had to re weld it back to its stock location.

I also decided to change the Rear main seal, Pilot bearing, and throw out bearing. The clutch has been changed before and is in good condition.

 Tranny off

Old RMS out, new one in

I took out the wire harness finally, does anyone know what this harness connects to? It was connected and I could follow it, but I am limited in space right now.

The pilot bearing was too small

The throw out bearing was also wrong, so thats it for today.

I decided to change my oil filter housing gasket since they tend to leak.

 New gasket

 Alternator off

 Old gasket

Old and new. Good thing I changed it, because the old one was really hard

 New gasket on

 Housing back on

 P/s pump on

 Alt on

 Done

I figured out how to mount the spring clip in the tranny

Fork and new throw out bearing on

Old pilot bearing and new one

 New one installed

 All done for the dayComment

Sorry for the lack of updates. This damn swap is taking me forever for no reason.

So I got the flywheel on

 Locktite on those bolts

 Bolted down

 Clutch alignment tool being used

 Done

I also cleaned out the bell housing and lubed it up

Tranny bolted back up. That is pretty hard to do alone

Now on to placing the motor

 Demodified tranny mount

 Mounted up

 In place

 Changed this

Connecting the shifting components is so much easier with no driveshaft in the way

 Fuel lines connected

Motor had to be lifted to get the booster in

 Mounted

Now I am stuck here. I am waiting to get the bar shortened and welded. Next update should be soon.Comment

 I got the booster shortened

 Finally installed

 Lines attatched

 I installed the slave cyl

 Fabbed a dipstick bracket

 Installed the condensor

 New valve cover seals

 Installed

 Temp oil in

 Throttle cable installed

 Exp tank installed

 Rad installed

 Test start #1

 :(

I found out the starter power was not connected

 Test start #2

 Still no start WTF!!

Turns out I was missing a ground for the relays.

 Vac line installed

 P/S res on

 Ran the lines

P/S works great. Thats it, till next timeComment

So I had to remove the radiator to mount the aux fan

When I replaced the coolant, I used half of the container of Water Wetter, with a 50/50 mix or water and antifreeze.

I got my A/C lines mocked up

 I mounted the driveshaft.

That was the only pic, because the guy gave me the wrong CSB when he sold me mine, and I installed it. So I had to run a mission to get the correct one, and I didnt have a chance to take pics of the progress.

 A/C lines got done

I ended up getting a custom one from the comp to the condenser because my adapter was too large.

I noticed the SS kit was very close to the Drive shaft so I lowered the tranny a bit

I made a little bracket to hold the bottom of the e36 radiator

At this point I was at Friday last week. All that was left to do was bleed the brakes and clutch to drive the car. While bleeding the clutch I noticed fluid coming out of the front of the trans. I figured out that the slave cylinder rod was stuck in the trans. I got really discouraged and stop working on the car until Weds, when I duck taped a name tag magnet to a cloths hanger and got it out after a few hours.

I also decided to go with a remote brake fluid reservoir. Look at the clearance, or lack thereof

I introduce you to 2002ti res

 Where it will mount

 Draining fluid

 Res off

 Grommets off

 New ones on

 Mock fitting the res

I am still waiting on BMW to get me the 90 degree adaptors so I found some temp ones

 Lines ran

 Clutch line adapted

 This needed to be extended

 Done

 Look at the clearance now

Making the bracket for the res

 All mounted and happy

As soon as I get those fitting from BMW I will add fluid, install the new slave cyl, and bleed the system.Comment
