Time for a few nice money shots:






I still need to order a clutch kit from somewhere and a Schrick intake cam. I just closed it up to keep dirt and shit from getting in there. I think it looks bad ass as it is now. Also, those are the only pulleys I will be running. I am trying to find some info on electric steering pumps, ideally I would like to have it on a switch so that I can use it when I'm moving in a parking lot or something. I will probably mount it and the reservoir in the trunk.

What did the machine shop do the block ? Did they blast it ?

Reason I ask is residue left in the cooling pathways as seen here -



So, did you end up going with 0.12" HG ?

They tanked the block, honed, and resurfaced it to a mirror like finish. I don't know why there was stuff still built up in the passageways.
I did end up going with a 0.120" HG. You know what they say, high compression LOVES the dope!

sweet. your motor is coming together 10x faster than mine. i just threw my block in the back of the GF rav4, and even though the oil pan was off, about a quart of oil proceeded to leak out of the top of the timing cover and onto her carpet... i could have swore that thing was empty. LOLz @ me.

Well, with the power that I am intending on making, I felt I should upgrade my brakes. So I will let the pictures do the talking.

On with some updates:

Welded up the oil filter housing:




Also started refinishing a set of E38 16x8 basket weaves, until I can get my hands on 3 more E39 Style 5's. I've got one wheel done, and another one with some primer on the weave, waiting for tomorrow to finish painting it.

I sold him that intake cam! UPS broke the exhaust cam. When that idea went south I sold the intake cam to Serge.

Updates...YAY!
No pictures ATM....BOO!

I've got the front driver's suspension finished and converted to E30M3 5-lug. I'm in the middle of doing the passenger side and should have it done in about half an hour or something, then I'm getting lunch and going to get my camera for pictures of the engine insertion!
I've found a local dealer for Spec clutches, I'm going to order a Spec Stg. 3 from them. It's coming along slowly.
