I got the same set up! also did a wired in Aux line for extra input. Putting in period correct unit looks much better

Installed an old school Blaupunkt RCM 82 Frankfurt headunit. Not in perfect condition, but works and damn cheap :-)

How many hours did the shop charge you for? Who'd you have deal with it?

Bimmerheads, was around 2-3 hours I think.

Be very patient and go slow. If it's just dirt in the tracks causing most problems, unscrew the sunroof from the guides, and clean out the tracks.

If that doesn't fix your problems, just pay a shop to deal with it, which is what I did. WELL worth it in my view.

Restoring the sunroof! My biggest undertaking with this car yet.

Got the whole thing apart and cleaned out 30 years of crud from the rails. Added fresh lubrication and put it all back together. (It sounds simple when I put it in 2 sentences lol.)

Any tips/insight? Hoping to tackle mine this weekend.
