fabricated new brackets for the throttle body & electric fan as I deleted the factory air box & a/c system. Oil change tomorrow and maybe some rust repair & additional weight reduction.

This was also my hope until two separate PDR guys refused to touch it. One refused to drop the headliner saying "it would never go back up correctly," and the other said he "had nothing way to get it out and trying would be a waste of money." My sense is that represents too much work for the normal payment for their services and it's a bodyshop or nothing.

I have two more places to try before I resign myself to either living with it or finally sending it off to a body shop to fix everything that's bugged me since day one. The paint is very thin in spots, the bumpers need to be realigned, the always-present shadowline question...the car requires substantial cosmetic attention.

1. Try the "Dry Ice Dent Removal" trick.

The pros say it does not work, but it is cheap and should not make anything worse, right?

2. Pull your headliner out before you talk to the PDR guys. They are almost always lazy and greedy and reasonably smart, or they would not be PDR guys, right? Do the shitty work for them and tell them you will put it back together too.

Changed the oil and did some additional weight reduction. The car spins through first now and pulls hard in 2nd. ...and that's with limited slip. Not bad for an eta! I think having the engine not driving anything but the alternator & water pump helps.
