Man, I got confused for about 10 seconds! At first, thought the crank broke in the Corvair but looking at the shared rod dowels in the crank (also noticing that it wasn't flat-plane), had to do a double take lol.
Seems like you like GM (ahem, I can relate), what's your story on coming into the e30 world?Comment

I would probably keep the flat six in to. I said what I did because I remember seeing a vair in mall car show in the 70's that had a V8 conversion and it seemed badass to my impressionable young mind but I would have no idea how difficult that swap would be or what the car would drive like.Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. -Mark TwainComment

V8 corvair swaps can be done 1 of 2 ways. 1st is with the Crown convervsion. It takes the stock corvair transaxle and flips it around so the engine is now in the back seat. So basicly you'll have a mid engine car. And the other way is to use a Olds Toronado Trans axle. This here puts the engine right under the rear window and you still can use the back seat. Plus this puts alot of the weight overtop the rear tires. theres alot of custom fab work for this swap though.

I see. Brings to my mind the 1975 Toro I bought for $500. The thing was a blast with a mile long hood, maroon with white leather interior, the 455, and of course fwd burnouts.Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. -Mark TwainComment
