Thank you
Since I bought the car in 2005 I had always wanted to make it a concours car. It has been 6 years of improvements since day one and it was one of my goals in life to win 1st in class at the Local Concours de'Elegance. I have a lot of people to thank who made this possible and I hope everyone who has ever helped with this car knows how appreciative I am, even if I don't mention you here.
Justin, Reid, Luke, James, Jeff, Kohl, Nigel, Nate, Corry and Leanna. If it hadn't been for all of you helping me out before the event, I wouldn't have even gotten close to winning.
Justin, Thanks so much man! You dedicated just as much time to the car I did. Everything you did came out like you had won a concours before. If not for you it wouldn't have been possible, because even at 2am when everyone else had to leave, you stayed with me and kept working. I am lucky that you were in Washington state at the time and I'm happy that you're living here now!
Reid, Thanks a shitload man! Helping me clean all that tar residue out with brake cleaner was definitely an experience, everything you did on the car was perfect! And, even though you're a Subaru guy You came and helped out during the show and the car wouldn't have been cleaned up in time for hands off without your help.
Luke, Shit man you rock, but you knew that. Thanks for running around the shop and picking the best parts off each project/parts pile so we could use them. The entire trunk is flawless because of you and your rear deck upholstery skills are of course the best. Even though its not your style, you went all OCD with me and cleaned the crap out of everything you touched. You supported me when I didn't think the car would get done. Thanks again and I always enjoy building cars with you and I cant wait to build some of your and my new cars!
Nigel, Even though your learning about cars you were a huge help for everyone working. You made it so we could all be as efficient as possible and that is something that every team needs.
James, You have helped out almost every year I try to rebuild this thing and just because you weren't able to help out much more than a night or two this time, doesn't mean I don't realize that this car never would have happened if it hadn't been for your help and the inspiration I got by helping you build the Mtech1. Looking forward to our racing team and all the future projects you and I have lined up.
Jeff, Thank you for helping out with this car but not only that, you are always helping out on any projects we have going here at the shop and I'm lucky to have you as a friend and I'm looking forward to seeing and hopefully helping with your supercharger build.
Nate, Man thanks so much for always coming upstairs after work and helping James and I out with all our projects. You are the best body shop guy I know and the car would not be anywhere close to how perfect it is if you hadn't had put in all those man hours when it was getting rebuilt at Paramount. If you weren't around I would be lost when it came to making any type of chassis repairs and I appreciate the way you do everything right the first time without short cuts.
Corry, You not only made helped me make the paint perfect, you taught me how to wet sand and polish 1000x better than I did before. Thank you so much! That knowledge not only helps me with car shows, but also everyday here at the shop when we detail clients cars! Hope you're doing well back at Paramount.
Kohl, thanks for helping out for the last couple of years. Your passion for E30's is pretty evident and I cant wait to start the M30 swap for you!
Leanna, thanks for putting up with me and my car obsession! Most other girls would have left me for spending more time at the shop then I do with them but you understand its my life and carrier and are always supportive and I'm lucky to have you!
Gary(Dad), Thank you for always BBQ catering the club events, for helping me stay focused and think clearly on every problem I have, and thank you for everything you do for the family and my friends! This car would have been salvaged after the Honda hit it if not for you! Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to build it back to perfect!
Thanks again everyone! Till the next update

Congradulations again John on winning the class award, not to mention Best in Show :)
That's a very big accomplishment when I can't remember the last time Keith's M3 hasn't won the class, not to mention his several Best in Shows. I love that the E30 class has this type of quality cars each year!Chris

I should have an update on this build sometime. I got some factory 15' baskets for it and I would like to rebuild the calipers and fix some under-car stuff that has been bothering me.

It is a shame I missed this somehow...I saw the PRO3 build but not this. After spending so much time reading builds for COTM. This was awesome to read and watch as you struggled to beat Keith. Must have been the best feeling to take home 1st and best of show. This build should be a sticky.Last edited by F34R; 12-20-2013, 10:39 AM.~ Puch Cafe. ~ Do business? feedback ~ Check out my leather company ~

Great Googly-Moogly! That is absolutely fantastic, and really inspirational! I don't think I could ever get my car to that level, and if I did, I'd be afraid to drive it anywhere, since I'd want to always have it be that perfect!
Hmmm...I wonder if I could get my wife to let me keep my car in our living room...Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.
