Nice build! Hopefully this year, I can get the same things started on mine.

Well its almost time to move into another phase of this project:
Lightened/resurfaced flywheel

Clutch parts/seals/misc gaskets that need to be changed

Ordering some other stuff today/tomorrow (timing belt kit/oil pan gasket kit/power steering hose), some things I'm doing again as I'm pulling the motor/tranny together and might as well do them. The plan is to start this weekend but you know how plans go... :)BMWCCA #389756

Yea, I figured it was a machine shop, but was wondering what shop since it seems like good ones are few and far between lately.
Still working on the car. Collecting the suspension bits now. Hopefully soon....Comment

ask a trans shop near you for a recommendation or if they can. but i'd rather get the car together and drive than be modding it :) track season is here.. you signed up for any events yet?Comment

Damn, just read the entire thread. This is pretty impressive. The car is completely transformed. Major props for tackling it all."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

There's a guy in Sommerdale, NJ that did it...he dropped 4 lbs, he's often down your way at Atco racing (Anthony Figgas) I can get you his number, he owns the machine shop
Well its slated to start, but I've been having dreams about an e31 :devillook
no worries...thats next after the swap...if I keep the car :)
Also depends on drivability and how often one feels like replacing clutches, lighter flywheels put more wear and tear on the clutch
Thanks...still a ways to go to complete the "vision" :crazy:BMWCCA #389756

As I'm in the process of pulling the motor/tranny, of course I ran into a snag...those darn manifold nuts. I'm very tempted to zawsall the exhaust just so we can pull the motor and then purchase the ebay (yikes) headers as a replacement. Any good reason not to?BMWCCA #389756
