Keep the progress up. Don't worry about gas milage, when I was running an m30 I would regularly get over 30mpg on the highway....It was a different story if I was getting into it though :)

Finally got that fucking crank nut off today. My friend mike came over with his torches and after a long debate, we decided that the nut is normal threaded after all. It is really hard to tell looking at it for some reason, it almost looked like ribs instead of threads. We had to heat it up for a good 5 minutes and wail on it with the impact to get it off. I have no idea why BMW thought it needed to be that tight.

I can't do anymore work on the engine though because my friend has all my tools in CT, so I'll probably start prepping the engine bay for paint this week.

Crank bolts blow. Mine wouldnt come off with my impact gun and a worn out compressor.
Found a way to hold the crank, and a 4 foot breaker bar. It was good times.

                  Do work son

Pulled the oil pan the other day- no spare parts down there so I'm happy. The crankshaft has no play in it at all too. I've just been cleaning and prepping stuff for paint, I might have the engine together next weekend if the weather holds.

I'll post updates if anything exciting happens.
