I missed what you are doing for the engine, still undecided? Whatever you decide I am sure that it will be nice, after seeing what you have done thus far to your 84. Good luck and enjoy the weekend.

The easiest way to clean it is by soaking it in a degreaser or a solvent and then pressure washing it, which takes time, and then you can hand wash it which brings the shine back.

Thanks! A butt load of work still left to do, but I have until the end of this year to get it done and still have some time to test/tune it before next season.

A 98 m52 will in one form or another will find it's way in the engine bay :)

                  Things already purchased for it:
obd1 manifold, tb, maf, pink injectors, obd1 coils, starter, alternator, e34 oil pan.

on the way obd1 sensors, valve cover, oil pick up and dipstick/tube and s52 cams.

I want to use an e36 5spd, so I am not sure yet what clutch/flywheel/driveshaft to use but those will come later along with harness and ecu.

Didn't get any work done on the m52 today, but got the front and rear subframes out of the car. Will get them cleaned up before reinforcing them along with rear trailing arms.

I disconnected the parking brake cables inside the car from the e-brake handle and just pulled them out, basically left them attached to the trailing arms. Didn't have any problems dropping the subframe, it pretty much dropped down on it's own with just a little bit of help.

I will probably go with poly bushings all the way around, we'll see.

The front subframe is very dirty, the steering rack is leaking bad and stinks..... I couldn't get the u-joint assembly from the steering rack removed for some reason. It's so dirty I can't tell if there is a hidden pin or something I am not seeing..... e36 rack will replace it once subframe is cleaned and reinforced.

                    done for today

                    Fuel tank removal is next.

Got a couple parts cleaned up, and dropped off the front/rear subframes, should have them back next week.

Good work. Always nice to see people keep e30's away from the junk yards.
