Ultimate budget build.

So the goals of this build are simple.

Boosted M42.
7 psi under a grand.
~175whp without pulling the motor.
Done in a weekend.

This is what started it all:



I found all of that on craigslist for 150 bucks. A rebuilt TD05-12b turbo, Jackson Racing RRFPR, Bosch diverter valve and a pretty beat up intercooler. (I'll most likely be getting a different one at PnP or Ebay.)

I'll be running a stock ECU with just an RRFPR, an M50 top mount turbo manifold adapted to work with my M42. 2.5 inch piping for the intercooler and intake system. I just need a few fittings, some gauges and oil and coolant lines.

The goal for the install is to be finished before the end of Christmas break once it starts. Weekend of install will probably be the weekend of December 13th.

This should be fun.

Just probably a 2-2.5 inch downpipe from the turbo and stock exhaust with a more free flowing muffler, from all my research thats all I'll be needing.

why not ms? or vems? they arnt that expensive anymore. but nice project. i plan on boosting my s52 this summer.

Mostly due to money constraints, the fact that 7psi is the most I plan to run and that I got this bad-ass RRFPR for real cheap.

yep. looks like a good build. but you really need to get a diffrent intercooler. Maybe one from an audi 1.8t. basicly the same thing as you have but alittle larger and are easy to find.

Thats what I was thinking, I would like a front mount for the bling though.

Maybe something from a starion/talon/conquest/eclipse will help me out.
