This is badass!! I will be watching this as well BTW I have a decent sized intercooler its a "xs power". I will sell it cheap but shipping may bump it up for you. Here is a pic I can measure it tomorrow if you would like. pm me if so.

Here is a pics of the intercooler. I ran it on 93 rx-7 non-seq twins did great!!

just went down and checked this all out. there should be no problems with the setup, as long as danny doesnt over due the boost. it will be one mean little 318!

And that would be the reason I'm not installing a manual boost controller ;)

This motor is the same as your with 2 cylinders cut off, so if you need any help when the time comes, lemme know.

Impressive...if this works I may take this route...boosted M42's can be quick, cheap, and still gas-thrifty.

                      Keep it up Danny.

One more thing you might want to consider is slightly larger injectors, and tweaking the AFM for idle purposes (Not sure if you can do this on the M42, you can on the M30).

When I say slightly larger, I really mean only a hair bigger since you only plan on running 7psi. I would try some Pink tops from an M52/S52 or even 24lbers to go with the RRFPR.

And yes the M42 does have a high compression ratio (10.5:1), but only compared to the other motors of the same vintage (i.e. M10, M20, M30). Remember that modern turbocharged mantain around a 10.5:1 compression ratio's, and the main reason they can do this is with very, very precise fueling & timing, which is the engine management system.

Cool project, but I pray that you don't blow something up. Like soon.

Best advice I can give is DO NOT GIVE IN TO THE BOOST. That shit will become addictive very quickly, and the last thing you want to do is turn it up. I'm sure you already know this and that I'm beating a dead horse, but hope I am clear. Best of luck to you, boosted M42s are fun as hell.

My RRFPR is 12:1 IIRC so from what I've read larger injectors would be overkill, please correct me if I'm wrong though. If anything I might grab some mustang injectors which are 4 pintle and put out just a little more, something equivalent to like 19.5lbs. The plan is to run a little bit rich and sacrifice 1 or 2 MPG to make absolutely sure I don't detonate.

Definitely a good idea. Any mustang/Crown Vic/Design III Injectors are 19lb. and yes they have good optimization of fuel.
