This is the #1 pet peeve of people who repair automotive electronics. It infuriates them/me, because after a couple months, the electrical tape dissolves into a mass of sticky goop.

Use quality heatshrink for stuff like this, only use electrical tape for temporary repairs.

Nice Job guy, very nice job, I went thru my M5 the same way...
I really can't tell if I missed it or what but your Headlight washers should plug right into your US harness, atleast on my M5 it did...
On my M5, I found the harness that runs across the front of the car and catches the turns and front lights, when you find this harness (should be tucked in along the inside/outside along the top of the bumper), pull it all out and on the very end you will see an unused plug, your washers should plug into that if it is the same as the E28...
Good job on your car ....very nice...

it may have been like that for your M5 but not for my e30. i had to splice and tap into the sidemarkers. there wasn't any ready wires for me to plug into.

and kronus, the electrcial tape is temporary, i will do oem shrink wrap eventually.

fuck yea, I found a $100 bill on the ground today so I ordered the turn indicators, a metal covering part, and the rest of the trim pieces for the front bumper. progress is slow, but still continues.

i ordered 2 of part number 61 13 1 372 396 which is the correct plug housings for the turn indicators for the front bumper.

So this is what I have Coming in the mail

            61 13 1 372 396 Plug Housings
            63 13 1 372 683 Turn Indicator
            63 13 1 372 684 Turn Indicator
            51 11 1 888 269 Metal Covering Cap
            51 11 1 888 270 Metal Covering Cap
            51 11 1 888 266 Center Trim Piece
            51 11 1 888 273 Side Trim Piece
            51 11 1 888 274 Side Trim Piece

I actually decided NOT to get the mtech trim pieces because I have heard it looks grosely wrong without the mtechnic kit on the car. My plan Is once my euro bumpers are on, I will start replacing a few little things and add on more euro options... you'll see...

not to mention they're super expensive. I've always wanted to get some for my mtech car, but $300 for 2 pieces of aluminum....yikes.

Just got my front Ebay euro bumper center section in the mail! A bit cheesy, made in Taiwan, stamped DOT-R(nice touch), but a passable replacement until a real one comes along.

Huh? I thought the bumper chrome pieces aren't different, it's the plastic end caps that are specific to m-tech and not m-tech valances?

I think you're right... The only difference is the trim. The metal pieces stay the same.

So i checked the mail today and laughed out loud when I saw this (Please excuse the shittyness of the picture)

inside were the little screws that hold the headlight covers on. (for those of you who don't know Matt-B he is a guy on e30tech)

It's a little part but attention to detail is the key.

I still am waiting for the rest of the stuff to come in the mail, and once my latest shipment comes, the front bumper goes on and goodbye front diving board!:D

I also ordered new headlight rings with the stoppers. I have noticed that while my custom made headlight rings with wiper stoppers look good, i measured and drilled the stoppers too close together so the wipers don't work in their absolute functionality. I want them to function exactly like how I had them at one point in this video:

In that video they stop perfectly and extend and retract in the exact spots they are supposed to just because of the stopper placement.

took my bumper mounted fogs off and are now for sale in prep for the conversion... (if you want them check in the for sale section)

The Turn Indicators came today and they look great. They're bigger than I thought they would be.

Here is the plug everyone gets confused about. I ordered the right plug housing though so it should be ok.

I unscrewed the light to put the bulbs in and I found it came with a brand new bulb in place! That's pretty convenient. It also turns out that the biggest bulbs in my spare bulbs foam is the same bulb used for the turn indicators. Just a little fun fact.

If you look carefully you will see that from my mounting kit, two small, brass, hex screws are used to hold the turn indicator in place.

Once mounted I noticed there was a small weird looking gap that looked unnatural. The same gap is on both turn indicators though so it must be there for a reason. I'll see once my final order comes in.

Here is what it looks like mounted.

My order with the rest of the parts would have shipped out today, but Blunt found the center piece to be unacceptable because it had scratches all over it so he sent it back for a new one which will delay the project a few days. I'm fine with that though as long as I get a new one. So my final order is almost on its way and new headlight rings with wiper stoppers and grey kick panels are on the way.

And we all know who Matt-B is (MatthewMayhem). He's a fucking piece of shit that needs to stay off of this site.

but Kronus informed me on e30tech that the weird gap on the indicators is there because I put them on backwards! haha common mistake.
