Developing DTM style trailing arms using stock e30 knuckles.
This prototype will have to run true coilovers.
Im thinking about making inboard spring options... depends on interest.









Have to get them powdercoated and figure out a rear coilover to test them.

True coilover would rob a bit of inner tire clearance though correct? I'd like to see an articulated spring perch mounted a bit lower than original to give more spring travel.

depending on the coilover, gonna try and run sleeves on my skinny bilsteins.

something like these. There're a few companies making them. Spring/ride height is adjusted from below by turning the threaded shaft. I've been trying to visualize how to make them work in my stock arms.

interesting. it would be hard to mount a perch lower than factory... but not impossible. plus to work with ^ those id imagine the perch would have to be very specific to just that

Repairable Heim's are the way to go now, lots of different sizes etc.

your really thorough at removing mill scale or whatever because it definitely had me guessing! lol

made a beefy rear strut brace for my car to test these.
i bolted the plates above and below the strut mount, ideally I would weld them in but I daily this particular test mule.
It's nothing fancy, just some thick DOM.
