Yeah, I couldn't agree more. I love wringing it out everywhere I go. It so flickable, def e30/miata vibes. It's fun as hell.

I know the 2025 groms are going to have factory luggage, but I'm sure you can achieve that with whatever is on the market now. The grom aftermarket is insane

I'm sure it will be large enough. All I need it to do is carry a jacket for those days where it's nice on the ride out but a little chilly on the way back.

Excellent. Going to try to wait for a 2025 model, but who knows how long that will take in Canada. I've sent messages to a couple local retailers and they don't have arrival dates yet.

Not sure I could get behind saddle bags, but I don't think a large tail bag would take away from the lines of the bike too much.

Hopefully that bag has enough space. Personally I'd like enough room in there for a small grocery run for "a couple items".

The first bikes I rode when I just got my license were vintage 2-strokes from the 70s.
I think that gave me a soft spot for cars & bikes that are small + underpowered.

Way more fun to ring the neck off of something with short gearing and not much power. Lots of noise and occasion with less risk that comes with speed.

Don't get me wrong, I love my R6 for the raw power and acceleration. But you have to be on your game to ride a bike that will pull the front wheel up at WOT in 1st (and 2nd if there is any elevation change).

And like my E30 that will step out sideways at part throttle in a corner. I don't even take my E30 out these days unless I'm feeling 100%. It wouldn't take much to have a really bad day.
Modern vehicles have traction control, wheelie control, ABS, etc, but on my stuff it's up to me to not make a mistake.

I bet a grom feels much like a stock miata. Wide open everywhere without even speeding.
The car/bike is trying really hard and that's endearing to me.

And on top of that, a small/light bike will flick over instantly for what feels like amazing handling!
It's more about the "feeling" it gives you then anything else IMO.
Spot on, picked up BMW's smallest adventure bike offering, a G310GS, for the wife to ride.

Just a smidge shorter from the factory, but I lowered it 1.5 inches for her.

It's nothing like the big one IMO, and I am not the largest fan of it. Much too slow, and it feels like I'm riding a mountain bike in terms of weight and girth. Great on the dirt, but not confidence inspiring on the slab.

I'm much happier to have the big one on rides like these:

Ride back on the 10 from LA to PHX. ~3.5 hours of over 107 degrees F (synopsis of the days ride, a thing it does everyday)

Longest ride by Michael Rickerd, on Flickr

One of the two days rides to get to northern Utah

Long GSA Ride to UT by Michael Rickerd, on Flickr

After hours and hours in the saddle I love being able to just stand straight up while doing 70-75 mph. Helps immensely with being able to cover those miles.

          Those are some serious miles!
I'm assuming the Beamer rides smooth with that long travel suspension.

Looks pretty hot out there, does it have A/C too? 😆

Oh yeah, very plush in Road mode. Far more sporty in Dynamic mode. Watching the forks while riding showcases how much work they are doing. So many tiny little ups and downs are visible, but you feel absolutely none of it.

Haha, unfortunately not. Cruise Control is a serious wrist saver though. But we did hit every rest stop and 100% soaked all of our gear and our bodies under the spigots. Gave us about 35 minutes of refreshing riding before we were 100% dry again.

I love that retro-styled bikes are "in" again. And unlike cars they can produce the body styles in the modern day.

                What is it?

                  Its a XSR700 with the CP2

Basically an MT07 but with that neo retro styling.. Wanted a CB650R but this CP2 seems like the motor for me.. Don't have to rev it to 9k rpm to get something out of it. Got a good deal on it too.

ID:	10125541 It's a riff on the SR/SRXs, which I am very familiar with.

Yeah, seems to be the same idea at the SRX 6

Fun bike, loads of power for the city. Sounds awesome.

A buddy of mine had an XSR700 with a few mods and it was a great bike.
They sound great too (But the 900 is my favorite because I love me a triple)

If I someday ended up with another bike to actually ride, it would be something more along these lines.

So I keep my bikes in my outdoor storage unit in front of my shop..

Drove up to work today and found my grom laying in the middle of the lot, on a dolly.....

Someone cut the latch, not the lock and dragged it out.. Luckily the bars were locked and they couldnt get it far.... they scratched up the left side of the gas tank and broke a turn signal... California is really on a sick one right now..

Luckily its a faring and not an actual fuel tank.

Gotta figure out a more secure locking method

luckily it was my grom and not the new bike

Yeesh! You'd think a locked storage unit would be enough of a deterrent.
Glad none of the bikes walked away.
Time for an outdoor guard dog for the shop?
