Ha, well how about that. Your riding season starts, mine is ending. I am just waiting for it to be too damn hot again. Any day now. In the mean time I'm enjoying my ZRX and its new road 5 tires.Last edited by varg; 03-24-2024, 05:51 PM.

Yeah I got a new 2024 Grom SP (aka stickers)
Super fun bike, all my homies got them so we've got a little gang of us on groms lol.
Also going to be my transportation when camping and don't want to load up my truck with my camping shit. 225lbs wet. Was going to go used, but 5spd on the newer models was a big thing for me.. Plus it's so cheap.. I'm used to buying old turds, so this was a lil treat.

Helping my parents get their pair of neglected '79 trail 90's running to go up for sale also with my neglected 300 XC-W in the background. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree...

Had the bike for a couple months now and I'm at about 1k miles...
NGL, if all this car emission go green gay shit goes too far, I'd be content with scratching the dino juice itch w bikes.. Been loving it so far- it feel so natural to me.
Thinking about getting that CB650R this winter.
My bike is modded af now too lol.. It's so cheap!

I'm heavily considering a 2025 Grom when they're available in Canada.
How do you like that rear cargo rack? Do you have a tail bag you use with it?
.........
Also, while I'm here, here's a shot from the Cherohala Skyway in late May.
Big haul towing the bike down from Canada.

The bike has zero storage, so it's a must IMO, but just being able to slide my helmet over that has been nice.
Got this one off amazon. Hopefully it fits well on the rack.
What made you come around to the grom?

Looks like a blast to ride out in the desert.

The first bikes I rode when I just got my license were vintage 2-strokes from the 70s.
I think that gave me a soft spot for cars & bikes that are small + underpowered.
Way more fun to ring the neck off of something with short gearing and not much power. Lots of noise and occasion with less risk that comes with speed.
Don't get me wrong, I love my R6 for the raw power and acceleration. But you have to be on your game to ride a bike that will pull the front wheel up at WOT in 1st (and 2nd if there is any elevation change).
And like my E30 that will step out sideways at part throttle in a corner. I don't even take my E30 out these days unless I'm feeling 100%. It wouldn't take much to have a really bad day.
Modern vehicles have traction control, wheelie control, ABS, etc, but on my stuff it's up to me to not make a mistake.
I bet a grom feels much like a stock miata. Wide open everywhere without even speeding.
The car/bike is trying really hard and that's endearing to me.
And on top of that, a small/light bike will flick over instantly for what feels like amazing handling!
It's more about the "feeling" it gives you then anything else IMO.Last edited by Panici; 07-02-2024, 11:02 AM.
