I disagree that a parallel can not be drawn.

The gov't is always off the mark from what they say will happen, the programs always cost more, and they are never as efficient or provide as much help as they promise.

    That's across the board.

agreed. in the first couple days of the program look what happens, everything gets so backed up that the gov't has to stop it because they are up to their eyeballs in paperwork. now think about what its gonna be like when everyone just suddenly gets free healthcare

Ya, apparently it was money already approved as part of the stimulus bill, not new money.

thats because unlike a real business, governments don't engage in profits, risk, or losses. They have moral hazards that allow them to run inefficiently (ex. deficit spending) because no matter what path they take, the government will always be around and their personell will get promotions despite failure. quite unfair when you think about it.

It's a failure because the program had to be halted, because there was such poor planning for the response that with only 1/10 of the money spent they were losing track of what was going on.

How hard is that for you to understand?

The point he was making is that if the gov't can't even get their shit together to trade in 250,000 cars and give a rebate, let's let them handle far more difficult health insurance for 300+ million people.

Can't you not see the parallel being drawn?
Thank you, atleast some people get it.
