If I could find a cheap Miata I'd probably buy it. One of the funnest cars I've ever driven.

But if you are buying it for performance, e30 owners have nothing to talk about. A spec Miata would run circles around 90% of the cars on this forum. And the drivers of those spec Miatas have 10X the balls that most of the people on this forum have.

As a daily driver, probably not. As a track car / auto-xer, hellz yea. Cheaper to buy and mod than an E30. I used to have the "oh Miatas are the ghay" mindset until I watched a few at Thunderhill in a spec race. Not such a ghay car after all.

Now, if you want pink shirt with popped collar wearin', droptop homo good times, get yourself this....

i don't particularly like how miatas look like but then again e30s are nothing to write home about either. what i like about both of them is how they perform. this whole "i wont drive one cos it looks gay" mentality is retarded. Previous SM national champions are now in pro teams so that's nothing to sneeze at. Anyways, to answer the OPs question, get it if you like it, not because someone else thinks it looks gay.

Your reading comprehension is failing you in your old age. You got a chip on your shoulder because you spent track days giving stock Miatas point by's in your orange car?

My point was regarding people who label anyone that drives a Miata as a homo. It's quite the opposite, as they have one of the most competitive racing series in the country, and the fact that they perform better then most of the e30's on this forum is one more reason not to hate on them. Yes, on the street they aren't a "mans car". But for a track car they are a blast and run damn close lap times as a smilarly prepped e30.

What you talkin' about Willis? Next are you going to try and convince me that people with a rainbow bumper sticker just like rainbows? I have no problem if some one is gay. Go have fun - enjoy. Just don't insult my intelligence by telling me a miata is not generally considered a gay car.

A miata is a driver's car. Simple as that. If you want a car to look like a baller in, that's not the right car for you. If you want an incredibly cheap/fun/rwd/light car to toss around, that's what you want. I never understood the whole miata=homo thing. I know many people with Miatas, and they're always the guys who know the most about cars and who drive them the hardest.

a lowered Miatas looks 10x better then 75% of the sig pictures on this site.
It seems miatas were built for sport and not much else, thats more than I can say for my 2800lbs 4 seater with power windows, sunroof, and locks.

I give up. You are right, if a guy drives a Miata, he also takes it up the ass.

just sold mine this weekend, but it was a good car. and i dont think it looked very gay

car was fun as hell. go for it. just make sure to get good properly sized wheels and dump it and it wont look nearly as "gay"
Now look, I am not evil. My loan officer said so.

Miatas are like fat chicks, they are a helluva lot of fun to ride hard, but don't let your freinds catch you!

I wouldn't mind one for track stuff, but I'd never consider one for a DD. Spec Miatat drivers are just crazy, always bump drafting, flying off the track, coming in 3-wide in a 2-wide area, etc. I've had one give me a suprise visit, sideways, into my cornerstation before.

Yeah I'm not asking if a miata is gay im asking if it is a reliable, well built, good vehicle.
