are you going from a standard phone to a smartphone, hence the extra $30? IMHO, yes, having email on the go and being able to browse the net (amongst many other features of most smartphones) is definitely worth the monthly data price.

i just bought the droid. it's so sick.its one ofthose phones where you just can't put it down.it hasnt left my hand since i got it 2 hours ago. even when im typing this. its in my hand.

Yea...my digital camera is outdated (2003 model Powershot), I don't have an iPod/mp3 player, my phone is a POS. My theory is that buying something like the Droid would pretty much cover all my bases for about $200. My only problem with it is.....I drop my phone ALL THE TIME. I have an old-school flip-phone that you could practically go swimming with--a Droid--I'd be real worried about dropping the thing.

buy insurance. its like 8 dollars extra a month. buy a case for it. i have the clear case for mine and the screen protectors. they have the body glove case for it which is pretty fuckin rugged. i haven't dropped it yet so i couldnt tell you, i don't plan on dropping it though.

went down to the phone store and played around with the motrola droid. I think some time after the 1st of the year I will be picking one up. I really like it,
