^ I'm with this. Get yourself a clean ix and put that cash away. (but if you absolutely have to, go for the tornado red - it's the rarest lol)

    also breck>copper :P

Well, shit, didn't realize you were 17. In that case, you probably like the idea of a modded out R32 that you can race your STI/Evo friends with and eventually drive into a tree or something. Sounds like your mind's made up, and I'd hate to see you write off a B6/B7 S4 anyways. BTW, why would you prefer a 40:60 split if this were to be your snow car? Sounds like someone needs a Subaru beater.

At the end of the day, why the fuck would you go to an E30 forum to ask this question? You belong at VWVortex.

It's a high 13/low 14 second car stock, it doesn't look like it just came out of the Fast and Furious movie, it sounds simply amazing, it drives nice and has awesome interior, it makes a great DD and you can still take it to Autocross or HPDE w/o doing anything other than pads/fluid/tires. What more do you want? And it's cheaper on insurance than the high hp turbo evo/sti.

Sweet 6speed, nice 3.2liter engine, big brakes from the factory, heated seats, nav if you want it even.

        It's not your typical golf/gti.

Not everyone has parents to give them a nice starting car and then the means to get something nicer. At 17 (and still in hs) you should be damn well lucky to get an r32 or s4.

I really think in high school people should have cars <5k because no matter what you say you will do stupid shit. It's just the nature of high school.
I understand that but there is no reason he can call me a spoiled brat for driving a 4k bmw? and the reason i am getting a new car also is because the transmission on the car is on its last limb (again) and if you i am going to get another car, in my mind it should be something i will like threw college and will last so i dont have to keep hoping around, i just cant stand people that just jump to conclusions

I have been looking for a e30 to just have as an extra little play around car but the reason i really don't one car to sit out in the drive way and i really dont want to do that and then have the e46's transmission drop out of it and pay 1-2k to repair that. yes i do pay for my own maintenance/repairs

car will get no mods, also 40/60 makes it so on dry pavement it handles like RWD but when you need the AWD you get it and i think all 2007 and newer audis have the 40/60 dont know 100% though, also i have never been in an accident (knock on wood) because my parents would reem me

That's not my point. It's a great car, it's just not a great car for the cost of what you can get for the same price.
I would love to have an R32, but if I'm going to pay that much I'd get an STi or EVO.
VW over prices their cars. It's like VW is trying to make the R32 seem like it's competative to other cars in it's price range yet in reality it's not.

60%+ weight over the nose sure helps for handling with that 4wd pig right?

oh and my point wasnt about how hard you think youve worked through your long teenage years to earn/deserve this car. my point was no 17 year old needs a 20k performance car. c'mon, you said youve already gone through 2 cars and youve only been driving a year. insurance rates are one give-away you shouldnt be driving certain cars. common sense is another

I am not sure about the mk5 r32, but the mk4 r32 WAS cheaper than the EVO or STI. I think I paid 27.5k for a brand new r32 out of showroom floor, well on 2.9 financing.

Of course EVO or STI are faster, they both have about 60more hp and are more track geared cars where r32 is a better DD thats still capable of having fun.

The reason the first one failed was it was a 1998 durango with 170k on it (lasted only 2 months) and that had way to many problems, then the 323 was a quick replacement
also the R32 a $80 price difference from the 323 for every 6 months
also the S4 is around a $210 difference

Forester Turbo - hell yes. Handles great (once you throw in even the stock WRX springs and shocks), high 13s stock, you look at it sideways and you're into the 12s. And the best part is it looks like a soccer mom's ride.

I think I'll end up owning one of those at some point.

but i plan on getting a car this week so hopefully i can find one i like locally

also with the Forester thing, i really dont plan to mod my next car at all really, and i would need to mod a Forester pretty heavily for me to really like it and i cant seem to find any forester turbos with a 5-speed accept 1 and it is practically new
