Ha ha ha, so let me get this straight... you're accusing anyone that posts a political thread, and vicariously anyone that posts IN a political thread of being an attention whore because people read the thread TITLES? So "we" get off on people just reading the thread titles? That's a bit of a far stretch. Anyone else for the political sub-forum should chime in because this guy is obliterating any credibility it had one post at a time.

You have no real point beyond you want what you want, mmm?

No, the real irony in that was that they would sit and watch all of the "sinful" content, count how many times and of what nature the offensive items were, and then send all of that in with the complaint

I would say that some people get off by criticizing or posting polls about others getting off by "trolling". Again, I'm all for a call for civility, but making a Political Sub-forum will not solve anything except give credance to those that just disagree. Thus, pushing their personal opinions and beliefs on anyone and everyone else. The irony is like maple syrup here (no pun intended, Lee ;)). The call to remove Political threads from the place where frankly, they go and to push them into their own forum so everyone that disagree's with them doesn't have to "look at the thread titles" is laughable. The arguement thus far is:

"Political threads and those that post in them are pushing their agenda's on us!!"

While at the same time, by wanting a political sub-forum is pushing an agenda on anyone that posts political threads or posts in them.

I see nothing wrong with political threads in the off topic lounge. it's what the off topic area is for, anything not dealing with our cars. when i wanna read about cars, i'll stick to the majority of r3v, and when i want to broaden my horizons (i.e. funny stuff/shenanigans, what's up with the world, random crap) i venture into this part of r3v.

I'm indifferent on the sub forum for politics. if it happens, i may stop by every now and then to see what is up with politics that i haven't heard about. with so much time spent on crap for school, i don't pay much attention to politics right now so i don't mind reading a political thread to play catch up. it's usually more entertaining than sifting through articles of boring stuff on news sites myself. besides, reading it from a news site always gives me the feeling they're only telling me what they want to tell me.

I don't see why anyone would be against this, this sounds like a great idea.

Guess you don't see the irony in bitching and moaning, about people bitching and moaning.

I would see that as being more hypocritical than ironic. But I still say there should be a political subforum. I think it'd be fun.

I said yes because even the threads that start out innocent and potentially nonpolitical, some idiot never fails to come in and start a political debate and the thread goes down hill quick.

And yet a political section will solve this problem?
