honestly I hope the ratings are so bad they pull the show. There is only one top gear. You cant beat Jermey and the guys.

What sucks is, its the producers from the original show that think they can make it work with a state side version. It was so corny/ awkward to watch.

Better than I expected after seeing the dukes of hazard clip from a later episode.

Lack of chemistry, lack of class, lack of style, lack of experience.

Write the fat guy off, please get someone really eloquent like James from the BBC show, fucking dude has gel-spiked hair, and he's so fat he complained about a lambo seat.

Cinematography isn't up to par with the Brit's either. Not terrible, just not as awesome as I'd like to see. We need to get some of the young car guys into the TV scene...we have better photo/cinematographers here on this forum than in that show.

But I still hope they don't cancel it if it gets mediocre ratings, something is better than nothing.

Considering that season 1 is probably already done filming, I don't expect their interactions are going to feel any more natural this by the time the last episode airs; the way its going I don't see a second season coming.

For those saying there is only one top gear, try watching top gear Australia, its really not bad. Not as good as BBC top gear, but the hosts seem genuine enough and they have accents, so it works. There is no reason Top Gear America can't work, but with these hosts I don't see myself getting excited to watch it. Really good cheap car challenges might make it all worth it though.

Chemistry isn't nurtured, chemistry is natural...they don't seem to have it (or they are just all lame ducks in front of the cameras). Rhythm I can wait for, but you don't have to be British to be witty...and if the dudes are gonna be a couple of uninteresting talentless nobody's and a pro-driver then the cinematography and content better be through the roof, and that's just not what I saw.

I dont think the chemistry is just natural. I think it can come over time. Watching earlier UK episodes, I dont feel their chemistry was what it is now. I dont think this top gear will come close to the original i just think people had too high of expectations.

Just watched it. After reading this thread, I was expecting an utter disaster.

Not bad for a first episode, in my opinion.

only caught a few mins of it, and from the looks of it.............Looks to be a clone of the UK version stunts and format and all. Looks many of the same things are gonna happen that the Real TG boys thought of.

i actually liked it, if only because they tried to blow the tires off the viper almost continuously. Tanner drives like the same way i like to, loud and sideways. I think they need to replace the fat guy (what the hell was his name?) and keep ferrera and foust.

the camera work was definitely not up to par with O.G. Top Gear, but i think they will try to improve it. Why was there so much vibration in car? They don't seem to have a problem with it on BBC. In fact, i think some of it wasn't filmed in HD at all.


the cutscenes need some work, and so does the script. but you can't just throw 3 guys together who don't know each other and expect them to blend immediately, it may take a few episodes.
