Nice idea, gotta try that sometime.

Def. do what Sleeve suggested. And don't get turned off by lower megapixel amounts either (if that is something that you are concerned with) That only really matters when you make large prints.

Here are some decent web sites to buy from.

defiantly not my 1st choice as cheap filters are as bad or worse than crappy glass. But seeing as your camera does not have a traditional lens thread for mounting of filters you are going to have to go with something like that.

Speaking of Fuji this thing here has peeked my attention (no intention of purchase though) but for someone in the market for a mid sized rig that wants more sensor than a what the 4/3 platform can provide this would be a cool option as its running a APS-C sensor. The Propitiatory glass is great stuff, but its all prime no zooms are available Camera supports full manual focus controls as well

That is what I would do... but that is just me. I would wait until I had a DSRL, and I would wait to buy a DSRL until I knew that I wanted to use it often enough and long enough into the future to make it worth it. If you know that tomorrow, then buy one tomorrow etc etc

Yes I would tend to agree with that assessment as well. My point in mentioning it was more for future consideration than anything

Woops got it guys. Gotta start somewhere, and with what you've got you can work on understanding light, framing, compositions, etc before moving on to a cpl.

Hell I have a nice camera, good set of lenses, and a cpl and I should probably step back and learn more of what I just said...

I have a canon, I also recommend learning on an older cam and investing in glass.

I started on an XTi and acquired two L lenses. i had the XTi for four solid years and finally moved to a 60D 13 months ago. It's been a blast ever since. I'm glad I already had nice lenses to use when I transitioned.
