I've heard and read that drinking a lot of milk makes the body more acid and the body takes calcium out the bones to neutralize this. So if you eat a diet high in meat, grains, and dairy and low in fruit and vegetables (anyone seeing a Western dietary pattern here?), you have a net acid-forming diet, which will cause the body to scavenge calcium from the bones. http://www.nakedfoodcooking.com/milk...-osteoporosis/
I think being mostly vegan is the way to go. I also love Hemp Milk.
How much milk do you consume?

Got some goat milk today. Smells like goats while drinking it but it taste just like cow milk. I'll get used to it.
I wonder if I can drink half a gallon of goat milk during one class period and actually digest it. I did it once with cow milk and things did not go well, good thing it was a 50 minute class.Leave a comment:

I've had milk straight from a cow, wasn't impressed. Soy milk tastes sooo much better to me than cow's milk but I only have that when I'm out of Hemp milk.Leave a comment:

I'll dig up more later on it.. not sure which part you wanted sources on..
Goat Milk vs Cow Milk
· Nutrient content of goat milk is slightly less than cow milk but goat milk is more digestible because the fat molecules are one-fifth the size of those from cow milk -- making it easily tolerated by those with compromised digestive systems.
· Seventy-two percent of the milk used throughout the world is from goats. It is one-third richer than cows milk but more nourishing and easier to digest.
· The flavor of goat milk is comparable to that of cow milk. Goat milk has a milder taste.
· Goat milk has no cream separation because of smaller fat molecules.
· Goat milk contains pre-formed Vitamin A in the milk fat that allows it to be readily available for use by the body.
· Goats milk contains a more highly-evolved cholesterol than cows milk, making it more available for absorption to the brain and body. (Cholesterol is essential to the health of the myelin sheaths "white matter" of the nerves in the brain.)
· Goat milk is closer to human milk and is therefore easily accepted especially by those young or frail.
· Goat milk has an alkaline reaction the same as mother's milk. Cow milk has an acid reaction
· Goat milk does not form mucous (phlegm) and is therefore better tolerated by asthmatics and those with allergies.
· Goat milk contains more chlorine, fluorine and silicon than any other domestic livestock. Chlorine and fluorine are natural germicides and fluorine assists in preventing diabetes.
· Goat milk contains 2% curd, which precipitates in the stomach. Cows milk is 10% curd.
· Goats are naturally immune to diseases, such as tuberculosis, and are used in third-world countries to actually cure tuberculosis because of their inherent antibodies.
· Goats milk is tolerated by a compromised /damaged liver because of the smaller fat molecules and it's naturally homogenized.
· Goats milk has the ability to "sweeten" the intestinal tract and assist with constipation.
· Goats milk contains a higher evolved carotene (pro-Vitamin A). Researchers have found this to have cancer preventing properties.

Farbin doesn't have to worry about that, he makes his juice like this:

It's not about concentrate, you really soak up the marketing, don't ya?

See that "Pasteurized Orange Juice" on the label, that system that they use to kill any bad items (bacteria/virus/etc.) from the "Juice"? You know all the vital items and things in that "Orange Juice" you would ingest for your health? You do realize they have also been killed/degraded/etc.?
And then the commas in the not a significant source of blah blah blah. Not a good sign, you would get all those things out of a juicer and six oranges in your kitchen however.
You can't sell anything in a bottle/carton that's not pasteurized. You're right about the heat from the process denaturing the enzymes though... most of them don't fold back up. You still get vitamins from it.Leave a comment:

I was kidding about the water. I drink it when I'm in need of hydration, but a glass of water is not my first choice.Leave a comment:

I eat about 4000 calories a day (lift weights), on days where i am too lazy to bother cooking ill drink a gallon which ends up being right over 2500 calories and 128g of protein. That only happens like once every two weeks but have two glasses with a scoop of whey protein in each one, delicious :DLeave a comment:

I didn't even begin to degrade, just make a statement.
I feel very sorry to hear that you are running through life at such a breakneck pace that you can't even stop and smell the fresh squeezed orange juice.Leave a comment:
