hes in OH anything form U-haul LEAVING that area (or other states with lots of people moving out) will cost you a shit pile, as people are still leaving in DROVES so there is a lack of supply in the state, and Uhaul has to ship them in.
OP Trash the bed, when you get where you are going go to Cost Co and get a good Foam mattress IIRC the queens are like 350 bucks and will be a very happy man. (if cant swing it right away just leave the mattress on the floor, but do eventually spend the 150 on the foundation for it, it makes them that much more comfortable.)
Sell all the shit you dont absolutely need ship what dose not fit, and give away anything else or store it at a buddies till you can get back to get it.
Edit ABF, now offers a Pods Like service. Upack is what we have been using to move around with its a service from ABF freight lines. You can get a full semi Pup wagon or partial and now they have a small container thing like pods but cheaper. I think for 1 pod thing would be about 1700 door to door, and you dont have the fuel bills associated with a Uhaul
When I moved from MI to MT 2000 miles we got 2 3bed homes, 2 garages and a horse barns worth of shit into a 28 foot ABF trailer and 2 horse trailers both big though and 2 Tahoes. Along with 2 dogs, 3 horses and 7 cats (some are barn cats) I think all said and done we had 5200 in the ABF wagon and about 2500 in fuel, for a 2000 mile move in the dead of January
