Haha my mate from the states loves to pull that one out all the time, is that all you lot can say? Fair enough Britain would have been fucked without US help but atleast we didn't have to be attacked first before we went to help (I'm not british BTW).

My earlier comment was more trying to say that it could have been anyone of us born in the third world, we're all lucky enough to have running water, power, education, not to live in a desert, etc. Some valid points made though.

Still sucks how long it took your government to do anything about katrina. I was expecting them to be on top of the situation within a few days. Will be interesting see who does send help to the states. Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone (or who has family there) affected by mother nature.

Actually in WW1 we were never attacked. We just got called out because they caught us shipping war materials to the UK.

The administration couldn't get the approval to join the war so (I believe) they allowed the attack to be able to join the war.
Regardless of how or why America has for good or bad been the worlds helper (and "policeman") for too long and I think it is time we stayed home and tended to our own.

It is true after Neville Chamberlin declared peace in our time the British then did go to war, He was optimistally blind to Hitler's intentions and they did join the war before they were attacked but only after they had no choice.

I wouldn't blame your goverment if they stopped all foreign aid, sounds like good idea to me. Thats going to be one hell of a clean up. I know what your saying about being the world's policemen but sometimes you just put your noses where it isn't welcome and the situation ends up worse. Don't get me wrong, plenty of times you guys helped out mega but sometimes it just turns to shit.
