        are you kidding?

he changed EVERYTHING about how we use computers today. he brought the mouse (practically reinventing it for the average user) to the public. and what about GUI-based OSs? and a few years ago, smart phones used to be for "power users." but again, he brought the smart phone to the public. he reinvented the walkman. ipod? what's that? circa 10 years ago. now EVERYONE has a mp3 player.

you can argue that every single one of his "inventions" arent new. ok. but that's like saying picasso isnt "new" becase you saw a 5 year old draw something similar. what good is a great idea if it isnt implement correctly?

steve jobs has directly changed the way each one of us live our lives. and im not kidding. and i really dont think you can argue against that.

yes, you're on a computer because you are using this. Do some reading, he was more than just the pretty looking ipod guy.

              RIP.

                    Not exactly..

                    and what about GUI-based OSs?
MS and Apple both stole the idea from Xerox

The iPod was an idea and product originally produced by a small startup. Apple just bought them.

Yeah.. if Picasso took original painting and then hired a few people to add in a few brush strokes to touch them up.

I can safely say he's not directly changed me way of life nor many other people I live with or know. Never bought into the iFad.

If I were to say something positive about Mr.Jobs, it would be to say he was a good marketeer.
most of what apple has done, was infact, done by someone else first, and repackeged in a "hip" way.

to young to die for sure though, R.I.P.

Well, sorta.. but that's like saying ford stole the idea for the model T from horse drawn carriages.

He was a great visionary, but he didn't "invent" anything. He just had a knack for realizing when an idea had potential and selling the hell out of it.

He was truly brilliant, but not for the technology, but his advertising, he took things that were already on the market, added a little twist, and marketed the shit out of it so everyone had to have it. Apple controlled the market because of this.
