I feel your struggle. I don't live 45 minutes from campus but I have a 7 am class. But I'm trying to find a house to move into and that's automatically putting me farther away from the school.

See I have to live in the dorms for 2 years which pisses me off. Yes I could have applied to live off but the school rarely grants it unless it's a medical issue or something. The Lincoln school down in Denver has classes at 5:45. Shit you not.

Being broke wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't trying to afford painting my e30, refinishing some wheels, keeping the damn thing running... I can't wait to work full time as well. I'm an apprentice at a shop now and when I'm on breaks from school it's like a tease.

Then when you are working full time you will look back and think about the parts of your school life you miss. Things sure were simpler when I was an undergrad. Grad school is cool in its own way. Luckily my wife works for the University so I get four of my seven graduate credits for free each semester.

Whatever you went to school for was piss easy then lol.

Literally every "adult" with a job says this, when I enjoyed the time I spent working more then here at school, even the shittier jobs.

Most jobs are Easy, Engineering degrees are not.

Automotive school is not hard, especially if you already have a knack for wrenching. But I do like having time to hang out with roommates or friends in the middle of the day.

I spend much more time on my degree than I do my jobs right now. Nuclear Engineering graduate degree is not easy. I get up at 0400 every day except Sunday so I can s5udy before my 3 year old son wakes up.

There is a strong correlation between how early people start their days and income earned. Someday my time investment will pay off. I already make ok money but and still broke.

I will miss the social aspects of college. I will not miss the work load, especially the constant workload that follows you home. Yes... I know a lot of engineering jobs will require you to bring some work home. But, it isn't constant as it is with school. Homework is probably my most hated aspect of school.

This right here. I hate how it's constant crap to do after you get home exhausted. I love that when I walk out the door from my internship, the work there stays there. Right now I'm spending 20hrs a week on campus and at least that much doing hw at home and 20hrs a week working at internship. I'm just tired of this crap hw.

Well i got into SJSU and CSUEB, got rejected by CSU Fullerton ( which is kinda odd) and am waiting to hear from SDSU, UCSB, UCD and UCSD. Any of you guys transfer students?

UCSD if you can swing it. I spend a week there a couple years ago for an American association of Physicists in Medicine summer school. Got to stay in the dorms like a freshman. Walking to the lectures through the eucalyptus groves each day was sweet. Walking distance to Torrey pines, the beaches right next door and the rest of La Jolla is awesome. If you got the dough do it.
