Computer guys: Give me your opinion

I wanted to get some opinions of the new comp I'm about to complete. I just ordered the RAM and CPU last night, so it should be up and running this week. Just so you guys know ahead of time, I do very little gaming, the comp is more for multimedia, image editing, etc. So here's the menu:

    - Intel D865GLC Motherboard w/ Intel 865G chipset
(800 MHz FSB, support for up to 4 GB of RAM)
    - Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz Prescott processor
    - 1 gig of Corsair ValueSelect PC3200 Dual-Channel DDR
    - ATi Raedeon SE GPU
    - Antec SmartPower 2.0 power supply
    - 30 GB Maxtor 7200 / 80 GB Western Digital 7200 HD's
    - SoundBlaster LIVE! 5.1
    - Delta 52X CD-RW drive (DVD-R coming soon)

I've been out of the computer loop for a while and I really don't know what the standards are now. However, I do know that you're going to want a larger hdd soon =)

That computer will easily do what you want it to do. My computers specs are just a little under yours and the only thing it sturgles with media wise is editing LARGE videos. It will do it, just very slowly.

If you want a brand new Maxtor 7200rpm 160gb IDE HD I've got one. $80 Shipped. Let me know if you are interested, I've got some pictures of it too.

If i were you, i'd up that 80gb western digital to a 200gb Maxtor...16mb cache and only $91 of newegg!!! I'm ordering that as soon as i get desparate for space...which shall be very soon!

In all honesty you never know...80gb might not be enough..i thought having an 80, a 60 and a 120 was enough..

My 60gb IBM just blew and well now im down to 200gb of space..i can easliy fill that up in a week..

        Just my 2 cents

I guess the prices have came down significantly since I bought my 160gb HD, I'll let it got for $65 shipped if you want...

I've got a 20, 80, and a 300gb and if I hadnt gotten caught downloading movies/software twice, and decided to cut back, it would definetly not be enough space. 75% full at the moment.

Seriously, don't even start. I'm so sick of the debate. Please stick to the topic.

dude8383, I am going to be upgrading the HD's as soon as possible. The 80 gig is my media drive (mp3's, videos, movies, porn, etc...) I have to at least stick with it until I can get it transferred to a bigger drive. At which point, the 80 gig will become my C: drive. Since the only thing I use the C: for is installs, the 30 gig is fine for now. My plan at some point is to partition the drive and install Linux on the second partition, since I'd like to learn it.

I've had nothing but bad experiences with AMD, nothing but problems. Overheating, defects, lagging, etc... I'm sticking with Intel. They've never let me down. People have their brands that they like, and they stick with them. I've run both, and I'm just happier overall with Intel.

its good, but the video card is a bit weak (you can get a much better one for ~$100), and like everyone else suggested, youre gonna want a larger hard-drive.

That is a lot more computer than you need for Photoshop.

heh you know thats kinda funny..i use my 80gb western digital for installs and to run the operating system of it..the other 120 that i use is purely for media..the 60gb that i had was for porn and movies lol..

I would have to agree with armen..AMD makes great chips...they are cheaper and if you get the proper heatsink on that piece (for ex. Zalman or Thermaltake) then overheating shouldn't ever be an issue. It also depends what kind of use the comp will see..are you gonna be running this thing 24x7?? If you are going to run it all the time get a network-ish motherboard..EpoX makes some kick ass stuff..i've got one and well my comp is on for quite some time AND...i've got an AMD Athlon 2100 XP which never goes above 40 degrees celcius
