    Road & Track -

"Designed for Alfa by the immensely talented Ercole Spada at Zagato, this was the factory team car and competed in the 1969 Targa Florio. The owner, David Syndorick, is a known Zagato collector, and he says that this Alfa is so rowdy and single-minded in its design that it remains his favorite of all the cars in his fleet. It's often shown at top events around the world and is the last TZ built (chassis #750117). "

      AR716 Graphite Grey

Some say it's hard to match, and there's variation among samples from different manufacturers.

"I have the factory color chip and a hood with the correct color and I had better success having the color matched. I also have a customer car on site and his graphite grey does not even come close. If you happen to be in the Dallas Area I could help you with a sample. Better yet, I used English Color Supply where I can drop the information and they can send it to you. I used PPG Concept Single stage paint."

"I had my car painted in AR716 or Grigio Graffite but the paint came from Glasurit. some paint shops use a particular brand and will not use others but the color is available. my car was done 3 years ago."

EDIT - A 64 Sprint GT in graphite Grey..
This Grigio Grafite (Graphite Gray) 1964 Sprint GT is a relatively unmolested Alfa whose first owner lived in Italy. Aside of a repaint, rebuilt motor and brakes, and new carpet, it is in relatively original condition. All chrome is either new or in excellent condition.

It was hard to match on mine, because the guy couldn't find any modern paint codes. We matched it with some untouched paint under the glovebox.
Your paint doesn't seem to be very metallic. I think the GTV in the pic I posted is closer to the Audi Dolphin Grey that I painted my Datsun. I want something a bit lighter than the Datsun. I was also thinking Aston Martin Meteor Grey might be a good color. I'd love to find a color that is close to a true Titanium grey with some flake in it. The car is very straight, but I don't know how well the nose is going to straighten out.

Perhaps I should get crazy and do it Techno-violet Purple...

Hahahahahahahahaha I do actually like the color, but I don't think I'd paint a '50s Alfa with it. (E30 perhaps.) I like the GTV color as well. I'm still contemplating keeping it red however. I don't like red, but pulling everything out of the interior doesn't make my top 10 list of things to do. Added time and expense.

Yeah, we might have to come over there and do a r3v group paint intervention if you put metal flake on it.

I don't want a solid color, I want a metallic color to hide any imperfections in the bodywork. I'm not talking bass boat flake, I'm talking a good metallic color, like the GTV that I posted pics of, or like my Datsun, or M3 (diamond Swartz) Heck, AR501 Red but in metallic might look really good. (I'd want to see a paint chip first.)

If I were to go a solid color, it would be Black, Dutch Blue, or AR501. I don't like just grey with no metallic to it.

I personally thing FCA is lying about it being refining the car more.

It could be, but I think they are facing financial issues that they are not disclosing, Everyone knew Fiats purchase was going to bite them in the ass, its just a matter of when.

Exactly - you read stuff in financial news about FCA all the time, then wonder how they were going to introduce a dozen completely new Alfa models in the next two years.....
