Hope you have tiny wrists, those are seriously small watches. I do love the style though...

yeah I have had a few vintage 60's seamasters. They are great LITTLE watches cases are 32-36mm in most cases, they mens watches, but art the size of most modern women's watches. Looked good on the little woman though.

When I was joking about an Hermes watch being a fashion accessory, it's because Hermes doesn't build watches. They contract them out. So, you're basically paying for a generic movement (no more than $150 to $200 tops) and the rest of your $3800 pays for the little Hermes logo on the face. That's not the case when you buy a Sinn, IWC, Zenith, Omega, etc.

Let me put it this way. You need a new cellphone. You can go to Prada and buy a phone that says Prada on it for $800. What you don't know is that under the shell is a generic Nokia or Motorola from 2003. Or, you can just go to Apple and buy an iPhone for $600. Which would you choose?

For sure a Seiko or Citizen with generic quartz movement is more accurate than the vast majority of (much more expensive) mechanical watches...especially something like a Rolex. Also, they're practically maintenance-free (just change the batteries every once in a while).

Then again, a brand-new Honda Civic or VW Jetta does everything an E30 M3 can do. If you had $20k to spend on a car, which one would you rather have in your garage?

Price check on Vagiclean, aisle five. I repeat: price check on Vagiclean, aisle five. That's Vagiclean. We've got a customer down here with a full-on fallopian fungus. I'm baking a loaf of bread and I think it's sourdough.

OP: look into seikos as well, they have pretty bulletproof movements, reasonably priced and they make some really good looking watches.

the srp043k1 is one of my favorites, they also have a black version, but i forget the model number

it can be had for around 200 give or take

I know it's not what you're looking for - but I've been super into vintage mechanical watches recently. I've developed a mini collection and have a few projects going on. I'm working on retrofitting a size 10 elgin pocketwatch movement into a wristwatch case but I have to repair the movement first. I also have a few random watches that are hanging up - I'll be servicing those when the rest of my tools come in.

As for working watches - I currently have the following:

A 40's Wittnauer stainless military watch
A 40's Lancet (by Marvin) with a swiss AS movement
                      An early Elgin wristwatch
                      A 1930's Hamilton
3 pre 50s Pobeda wristwatches (USSR)
                      A Raketa
                      A Poljot
                      A Sekonda

If I was to buy anything new it would be a Tourby. I hate all of the giant chronos.

Here's my Lancet and Wittnauer - I don't have photos of the rest yet:
