U mad bro? I don't understand what the problem is. I love paying for things myself(hence, this swap) but wouldn't you accept help if it was offered? I don't deserve it, but he volunteers to help me pay for things and helps out at events, if you have a problem with that then sorry.

100 DoD would only have been $70, the event I went to before that(Yoshi set up) only cost like, $25 I believe? Last autocross I competed in was $35. Just keep a look out for the deals, and have friends who run events.

Autocross events are cheap as heck, at least the ones I've been doing. As for actual tracking, my dad helps pay for any hpde I do and drift events are usually pretty damn cheap.

Edit: Even if I had the money, I'd do a 302 swap. Just a quicker, easier one than having to wait for money.

A cage would actually be a pretty good investment. Almost lost it a couple of times because of loss of traction(ass end always wants to kick out)

Sorry :( I thought the point of a car community was to, you know, participate? Guess not. I guess r3v would be more fun if nobody ever posted.

and as far as a DD with a full cage goes, thats just silly. When you say you are used to being dumb/impractical by driving a car wit no A/C, PS, or heat you describe a large portion of R3v, myself included. But a cage just for shits and giggles or occasional track or drift events is a huge waste of money especially if you cant scrounge up $2500 for a 24v swap, where are the funds for a bar or a cage coming from?
My dad volunteered to help pay for it. He's lost 2 close friends to accidents with powerful cars, he doesn't trust me in one without a cage. I'm not doing it for shits and giggles. I'll be doing a lot of events this coming year.
