A lot of the chicken you buy in the store is pumped up with a sodium solution that could be part of the problem. If you buy whole chickens and cook them, they have less sodium solution than the chicken pieces.

Any drastic change in your diet will give you issues though. It is your choice to eat what you want, but I think you are better off with a balanced health diet of fresh foods (including a variety of meats that are not processed) along with excercise including cardio.

Cutting out fast and highly processed foods is a huge jump forward. I never have any of the issues you speak of and eat red meat for atleast one meal every day. I also eat fish and chicken several times a week along with plenty of fresh vegies.

And yes, i dont' totally disagree with meat, it's just another way of approaching a diet and supplementing different foods to make it healthier. but when you consider most of the ppl on this board consume McD's and Wendy's on a regular basis and are under the age of 25...
wait wut, where are you getting this from?

Meh, I am a believer in everything in moderation. I won't shy away from vegetarian or vegan food, but I typically do eat a fair amount of meat. I found that making sure my diet is well balanced helps more than anything, along with not overeating. In a way, I was raised to pretty much eat everything on my plate. I later realized that was too much, so now I eat a wider variety of food and typically less of it. Also, drinking water instead of soda and cutting back on sweets was a massive energy boost for me. That said, I don't think I could ever cut out meat completely. I enjoy it too much, and don't really see anything wrong with it.

And if you need to clean out your digestive tract, eat some super spicy Thai food. I shit you not, it will cleanse your innards like you'd never believe.

Lol this thread is funny. I used to be a vegan hater. (Shit vegans say, youtube its worth it) but then my girlfriend went vegan and I was pissed. Now 6 months later I'm glad I feel so much more healthy eating the food she cooks. I still sometimes induldge in meat but not often. Vegan done right = good. When she told me its just like lowering your car, there's a right way and a wrong way to do it I was sold!

If it's a monetary thing all the power to you, just don't tell me you're better off with a vegan diet. Most dietitians, professional athletes and others who's diets make or break them have one where meat is consumed in moderation.

As for it being a money thing, food is one thing I don't think should be skimped on. I like to eat good food, so I'm laughing at your justification of cutting great food out of your diet for what shouldn't make or break you financially.

This^ I NEVER ever eat a meal without meat. I poop twice a day and take my assorted vitamins. Never do I feel pain when pooping, another 1+ for a shitty diet.

LOL. For those of us who value food as an experience, that's not really an issue.

I dont' eat soy nor tofu, shit tastes terrible. I still lift weights and use things like pumpkin protein, and hemp protein in my almond milkshakes.
