I was a tech for Land Rover for a little over four years, and went through factory training with Land Rover of North America. During that time I resisted the urge to buy a disco or rrc. Every time I peek into this thread, I see the pictures, and the urge to start looking for a rover comes back. Then I read about the problems you are all discussing, and am immediately reminded why I never bought one. Good luck to you guys that take on the challenge of keeping these things on the road.

Like a BAWS.
Even with something gone terribly wrong, locked up Borg Warner and something else messed up in the driveline, still didn't have a problemo in the 2' of snow. Even doriftoed it at Food Lion when they closed at 5.
...and now it sits, waiting for me to swap the TC...1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5

Mine has started giving me an occasional high idle and difficulty in hot-starts. I want to blame the Bypass Air Valve (stepper), but I just replaced it about 6 months ago with a brand new one. I might try cleaning it, but I do wonder if it isn't the TPS or MAF. The front pitman arm bushings are giving me a nasty weave and the odd clunk too. I replaced them 3 years ago, but will put OEM Rover ones in this time.

Finally got the lt230 in and drove the damn thing home tonight.
Only prob is there is a nice whine from the 230. It's a 1996 unit. I don't have the trans tunnel sealed as I just tossed the shifter covers there and drove it home. How loud should these things be?1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5
