What do you mean "be that guy"? What's wrong with standing up for people, especially against sexist jokes? HarryPotter, maybe you are "that kind of guy" who doesn't stand up against this sort of thing because you are insecure and afraid that you might get laughed at or thought of as not a "real man" or something....
I happen to agree with bernzpeed. It is insulting how much women get judged via preconceived notion's. I am a female and happen to love cars and everything about them. One of my passions is cars and driving. My dream job is to become a race-car driver. I am also an avid indoor go-karter and regularly kick other guys asses in the karting league with Intel. I also work on my own car, and whatever I don't know how to do or haven't done before, I research and then do it. I also happen to be the one to point out cars all over the place while driving with my boyfriend. He normally can't tell the difference between 3 and 5 series BMW's, old or new, from afar.
For all of you guys who are saying that girls don't know shit about cars, maybe YOU are hanging around with the wrong types of girls. And most times, guys don't actually know as much about cars as they think they do, or as they say. About a quarter to half of our male friends, don't know anymore about cars than I do. 1 of our male friends drove a friends truck from Portland to Olympia in low gear and blew up the transmission. Another male friend of my dad's didn't know to teach his son to put oil in his car, so his son ran their 1998 Cherokee out of oil and seized the motor. Another male friend of ours bought a brand new Mazda RX-8 and doesn't know hardly anything about how to fix it himself.
