Nice. I have a mid 70's Pioneer integrated unit that I really enjoy (forget the model offhand).

I just got this Yamaha cr-620 (late 70's) unit to tinker with.

Does it count to post in this thread if its free?

Crappy picture quality, but we picked up a standup unit at auction, Packard Bell, dates from late 30's, early 40's from what I've found...

Tubes all there, and it picks up but needs some minor antenna/electrical repair, for now it's just a glorified picture stand.

Well, its a bit hard to say pat since I purchased items individually over a long period of time.

Had I bought all of that new, it would have been well over 20k. I waited for really good deals to come up before I bought anything. I can say that I have at least as much invested as a good driving e30.

Probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 1/8 to 1/10th the new price. If you are careful, you can get into large format photography relatively cheap.

I know you love old cameras. If you want to get started, drop me a line. My advice is free 8)

I love the way prints come out on large format. Makes me miss my days in the darkroom. Did some stuff with 120 and was downright amazed.

If you guys like old radios I got loads to show you. My great grandfather repaired radios, and we've still got basically everything he left when he died. Lots of books and spare parts, bout 5-6 standing units, and maybe 5-10 smaller radios.

Do we need a r3v antique thread?

Yeah, I really think we do. I fucking love antiques.

I'm really reluctant to pick up any more expensive hobbies. Also - I'm not good enough of a photographer to say whether or not I'd even benefit from large format.

Same here. everything was made so much better back in the day. The word "antique" or"antiquing" has a connotation associated with ghey people, but it sure is nice when around here you can go buy a one hundred year old cabinet for about 600 bucks. Sure beats going to furniture hut and spending 2 grand on a piece of Chinese crap.

I don't even know what I'm doing anymore. I'm going to restore the electronics on this one and wire in an aux input.

Bought an amazon cheapo tripod and a 32gb sd card. Didn't realize the sd card was a class 4 when there was a class 10 one for the same price when I bought it. Oh well.
